May is just around the corner and that means a full month of celebrating small businesses! 🌟

Each year we have the privilege of honoring an outstanding business leader at our Small Business Banquet and we are thrilled to be presenting Jon Barbee, President of Construct Inc., with the 2025 Small Business Leader of the Year award.

Jon Barbee founded Construct Inc. in 1999, and has grown the company into a regional leader in industrial steel fabrication. In addition to Jon’s leadership, the success of Construct Inc. can be attributed to the company’s core values: Christian morals, “no spare customers”, safety, and teamwork. This commitment to teamwork also extends beyond his own company, where he has led efforts to improve the workforce pipeline. A former board member of Wilson Education Partnership , Jon was one of the initial community partners to participate in the Communicating with Confidence program, which prepares students to enter the workforce with enhanced interview skills.

Construct Inc., is a custom industrial steel fabricator with clients across the country. In addition to structural steel components like beams, columns, and braces, Construct Inc. is also a leader in heavy plate and handrail fabrication, as well as surface preparation and painting. Construct Inc. has capacity across more than 50,000 square feet for precision fabrication.
