Plastic Ocean Project
Dedicated to ending plastic pollution through research, outreach and collaborative solutions.
Our long term goals are to actively and collectively incubate 5 solutions toward the prevention and removal of marine plastics on and off-shore. We bring together a community of world leaders focused on innovation, collaboration, education and outreach, while spearheading and mobilizing focused research and innovation projects to meet the challenge of removing man-made debris from our oceans in support of our next generation, while also creating new sustainable businesses.

For Earth Week, our friends at showed up in a big way for part 1, 2, and 3 of their 2026 Community Cleanup Campaign with POP. From Market Street and Princess Place Drive, to Eastwood & Military Cutoff, to Ringo Drive near Target, teams spread out and tackled debris head-on, keeping our community a little cleaner (and a lot more cared for).
And the finds? Let’s just say…eclectic. A flat screen TV, snakeskin stiletto, golf ball, cooking syringe, guitar amp, and even a lone baby sock, just to name a few.
A huge THANK YOU to nCino for your continued commitment to protecting our environment and showing what collective action looks like 👏
And a very special shoutout to Emily, our incredible Operations Director, who spent the entire week facilitating and attending cleanups, all while in the midst of Gala prep, and handled it with such grace. We couldn’t do this without you 💫
Lastly, thank you to for generously allowing us to use your dumpster to properly dispose of everything collected!

From our team to you 🤍
We’re still riding the wave from an unforgettable For the Ocean Gala. Seeing our community come together dancing, celebrating, and showing up so wholeheartedly for our mission, meant more than we can put into words.
To everyone who attended, supported, and continues to stand with us… thank you. You are the reason this work moves forward every single day.
A special shoutout to Captain Charlie Moore and Ralph Chami for joining us and helping make the night even more meaningful.
Additional thanks to opening music from our emcee, our auctioneer, Justin James and Brunswick Big Band for bringing the tunes!
We’re so grateful to be in this together 🌊

Third time’s the charm…right? 🚐💙
POP officially has a van again, all thanks to YOU.
After Bonnie’s accident in 2024, we replaced our van with its twin… which was then hit by a City of Wilmington trash truck (we know 😅). We’ve been van-less for nearly 2 years, making it work thanks to our incredible (and brave) team.
Today, we’re finally back on the road and we couldn’t have done it without your support. It truly means the world to us. 🌎💙
