Coach Pete Cimino: Pro Level Pitching & Hitting Instructor (est June 2014) 30+ years of playing coaching & instruction experience. Biomechanics & science based.
Rotational mechanics. Max Rotational Body Speed = Max) Pitching Velocity and Max Hitting Power NSOB: An innovative, modern concept of teaching the game of baseball and softball; relying heavily on scientifically proven drills that work.
Arm Safe / Max Velocity/ Optimum accuracy.
I will always stand firm behind the science that supports the Pitching mechanics that I teach.
The number one goal is arm safety.
When you learn & begin to master the rotational mechanics that come from the science, the other 2 major goals of pitching follow suit automatically.
1. Maximum Velocity
2. Optimum accuracy.
I don’t care what detractors who don’t know much of anything about the biomechanics/ physics of pitching say. We don’t speak the same language.
Every post I make. Every instruction I give is supported by science.
How people can say science is wrong I don’t know.
People have the right to say or think whatever they want.
But as I have done throughout my 12 year career as a highly successful instructor, I am always open to: LEARN. GROW. EVOLVE. And I continue to do that I order to stay on top of new info that can make my players better.
Those that don’t have effective knowledge should do their own research. Dig deep. Start with arm safety. Add the accuracy & then the velo.
Follow the science.
Follow me.

Hard to believe it will be 12 years in just a few weeks that I started my journey into baseball instruction.
Lots of Learning, Evolving, Changing, Adapting & Growing not only into a pro level instructor but a better man.
Come and join me either for the first time or again.
If I'm always learning, so should you be.
Let's get you BETTER!

Just because seasons are starting does NOT mean you are done training.
Training never stops.
Learning, growing & evolving never stops.
Getting better never stops.
Yes, everyone is busy with games & practice. But, to find an hour to come in and conduct a sanity check of mechanics and mental approach goes a long way.
Or, could be you are not satisfied with where you are.
Something is off mechanically or mentally.
Your performance on the field isn’t quite there
You don’t feel confident.
These things do not fix themselves.

Nick’s Varsity start vs West Aurora. Saturday 4.11.26
Dominant performance.
5 innings
83 pitches
7 strikeouts (5 in a row)
2 runs / 1 earned run
Nothing hit hard.
They won 3-2 on a walk-off in the bottom of the 7th.
He didn’t get the win, but it didn’t matter.
His performance spoke for itself.
One for the books.
Curve Ball if thrown correctly is technically the safest pitch to throw.
When we hold our hand down the palm faces in. If we wave our arm up then down naturally the palm is facing in.
That’s how to throw a great curve safely But it has to be gripped correctly and squeezed.
And yes that’s how most MLB players grip & throw it now.
Keep your arm safe. Karate chop your curve. Squeeze the crap out of it. Throw the crap out it.

One of the major components of creating maximum velocity is the ability to ride your butt towards the target as long as possible while keeping your front foot behind the back foot as long as possible.
Staying back creates torque.
When the body comes out of torque it comes out faster.
This generates body speed.
This allows the pitcher to create “ground force”
Ground Force is physics and gravity working together.
This allows you to get down the mound as fast as possible, creating a long stride.
The longer you stride the harder you throw.
I call it “Ride & Rotate”

It has been scientifically proven that the more the head is tilted & the glove hand away from the center of the torso the higher the arm slot.
It has been medically proven that the higher the arm slot the more danger the arm is in. As it is bearing the brunt of the pitch vs. relying on the help of the entire body.
You can look up this info yourself.
Get & stay rotational!
Get your entire body going straight to the target. Not just the arm.
Keep your delivery safe!
Accuracy Drill.
Chest to glove part 2.
The first part was just holding the glove out in front & going towards it in the pitch.
Part two is now gaining control of your glove hand and getting it to stop right out in front of you letting your chest, as you come forward go to the glove, or if you prefer bringing it to the center of the chest
Glove to the center of the chest is one of the most critical high points of accuracy
It ensures that your entire torso is going straight towards home plate
This works hand-in-hand with the eyes on target and level.
Perfecting these two high points of accuracy guarantees your precision / accuracy on your pitches will drastically increase.
There will be no tilt of the head, pulling the throwing arm up high in a dangerous position. There will be no swivel of the shoulders, pulling your body to the side.
Bottom line, you want your entire mass going straight towards your target.
That is what accuracy is all about.
The single, most important body movement in hitting is hip rotation.
Implementing hip rotation, means getting your legs, your core and your torso into the swing. If you don’t do this all you’re doing is swinging with your arms and losing power.
Power is generated starting with the back hip exploding in rotation, rotating the legs, core and torso. This is what drives the arms & hands to the ball with major power.
When you load up the backside, you are storing up the energy & power that is explodes out when you fire that back hip as hard as you can
In all the years I have been teaching baseball, this is without question the single, most effective hitting drill for hip rotation I have ever used & seen.
It fixes probably 75% of everything that goes wrong in the hitting mechanics.
When a hitter masters this drill, everything else becomes easier.
Stop focusing on just the upper body and focus on the lower body. Don’t be top heavy meaning swing with your arms. Be bottom heavy. That where the power is. Specifically with hip rotation that also rotates the rest of the body.
Pitching accuracy is dependent on the entire body going in One Direction. That direction is straight towards your target.
There are several high points to achieving optimum accuracy. There are two with the upper body. 2 with the lower.
Upper:
1. Eyes on target in level.
2. Glove to chest or somewhere in the middle of your body.
Whether you go to the glove or the glove comes to you, this ensures that your torso goes straight towards your target.
These 2 critical high points will guarantee your entire torso will go straight to your target.
Drills need to be done into the high thousands in order for them to become automatic. It takes 1000 perfect reps to create or break habit. It takes 10,000 perfect reps to make something automatic.
When you hit habit to automatic, your accuracy will skyrocket .
