This is my 22nd year working with interns.
I was once their age when I first started working at Herb Pharm.

Twenty-two years later, my relationship with them now is often like that of a mother and daughter.

No matter how much time passes or how great the age difference, we remain kindred spirits.

🌿💚 A new crop of interns are ready to bloom on the farm! We’re so excited to welcome our Summer Herbaculture Internship group.

Show them some love in the comments, we’re excited to fill their summer (and minds/hearts) with an abundance of herbal knowledge!

To me, a weirdo is something much more positive.

They are the wonderful, unique people in our community.

The ones whose charm comes from being a little different.

The ones who stay true to what they love and have turned that passion into a business.

Those are the people I want to continue supporting.

To everyone who joined us, at picnic in the garden,

“I’d love to participate again next year,”

is the greatest compliment I could receive as an event organizer. ✨

I should post more plant photos from the botanical garden.

Clematis can be a little tricky to prune. Last fall, during the pergola restoration project, this clematis was accidentally cut all the way down to the ground.

I was worried it might never come back, but look at it now — the most beautiful clematis we’ve ever had. ❤️

Sometimes the strongest growth comes after being cut back. 🌿✨

While many people are celebrating graduation season, our spring interns at the Herb Pharm have also completed their journey and graduated.

Watching this season come to an end is both bittersweet and beautiful. While it’s hard to say goodbye, I’m deeply grateful for the time, hard work, and memories we shared together.

One comment that stayed with me,

“You are the medicine itself.”

It was a beautiful reminder that the care, dedication, and intention each intern poured into this work become part of every bottle that reaches someone’s hands. In that sense, they truly are part of the medicine.
