Rest in Peace to the forgotten cloud monster. He didn't know what he had. Has mold and fungus truly taken over? Did this life grow on him or from him? Sometimes I give the originals to their rightful owners.. Sometimes they don't survive. May the clouds open and the sun shine upon you dear cloud monster. You've grown quite strong.

I am not upset. He is one with the decay around him. I believe true art is more important than money. Nothing is permanent.

I am very grateful when someone buys a Woodhead. They are story telling fantasy art, which is actually harder to sell if it doesn't have some clear connection to fantasy pop culture. Most random supporters are looking for "decorative" art or some obvious reference. Friends often see themselves in the woodheads, likely because they are portraits of friends and I try to keep my friendships honest.

As a traveler and a loner this becomes more challenging with age. It is clear to me now the concept of loneliness and the mental illness it can bring. The grass is not always greener and the ground is not always fertile even when you are certain you're in the right garden.

This Woodhead has lost his face and his leaves are dying. But it's okay Mr. Woodhead... you can lose face every once in a while. Try again.. Being vulnerable with others is how we grow new fruits. Each ring marks another year of lessons and the cross sections will make you more unique.

This painting is sold.

De-Evolution. The second in the series of my earliest paintings in the early 2000 years. I painted this one for a college project in a community college with no art program. Like many of my paintings are some pretty direct Leonardo davinci references. The evolution of a man into a demon went along with the theme of our dying planet. It is true now that we all fly by the tips of our fingers.

2000-ish Acrylic and mixed media on canvas. I always thought this one bordered "commercial art" because its so satire it feels like it belongs on a T-shirt.

I began making what I consider to be "my art" once I had escaped "Dave's basement" where we all did all the dumbest things possible as long as possible until we were forced to live as normal functioning adults again or become homeless in a dying Midwestern German town. These early paintings were for me. At this point in my life most of the art I had made were silly comic book drawings, dragons, and commercial art projects. This was when I decided to make art for me, and began my slow transition to only making art for me. We called this the Tree-Ball, and I gave all of my following paintings very general names as well. This old tree is running out of planet..

This is the second version painted over the old paint. 12x16 acrylic mixed media on canvas.

These are the remaining "prints" I have on hand after the 2023 market season. They're actually small mixed media remastered versions of my old paintings with lots of paint and sealed on a UV varnish. Hit me up for the holidays, buy two get one. Dave needs $$..

I think this is a special time for art. We are living in the short span of time when AI can't quite get things perfect, and doesn't fully understand. Producing unique imagery weve never seen before and may never see again.
