Missouri's FIRST intergenerational community for Foster Families, Foster Youth, and Seniors

Photos from Generations Village's post 06/17/2026

Last year, our community came together to plant the garden at Generations Village.

What started as small plants and fresh soil has grown into a thriving garden filled with beauty, color, and life. It's a reminder that when we invest in our community, nurture relationships, and give things time to grow, amazing things happen.

Thank you to everyone who helped plant, water, w**d, and care for this space.

BINGO Day at Generations Village!
There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and great conversation as we hosted a fun game of BINGO for our residents!

Events like BINGO bring neighbors together, create new friendships, and remind us that community is built one smile at a time.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and helped make the afternoon such a success. We can't wait for the next game!

Imagine growing up in a neighborhood where you always feel supported.

Where foster and low-income families have a village behind them.
Where seniors are valued, connected, and full of purpose.
Where kids have stability, mentorship, and a place to truly belong.

That’s the vision behind Generations Village. Missouri’s first intergenerational neighborhood was designed to bring foster families, foster youth, and seniors together in one supportive community.

So tell us in the comments:
Who was someone outside your immediate family that made a difference in your life growing up? A teacher? Neighbor? Coach? Grandparent? Mentor?

Let’s celebrate the people who helped shape us.

May is Foster Care Awareness Month 💙
This month, we recognize the incredible resilience of children in foster care, honor the families who open their hearts and homes, and celebrate the communities working to create stability, belonging, and hope.

At Generations Village, this mission is at the heart of everything we do. We believe every child deserves more than just a place to stay they deserve connection, consistency, and a community that surrounds them with support.

Together, we’re building a new kind of neighborhood where foster families, children, and older adults thrive side by side creating meaningful relationships that last generations.

This May, join us in raising awareness and being part of the solution. Because every child deserves a place to belong.

Overcoming division: The power of knowing your neighbors - Springfield Daily Citizen 04/27/2026

We loved this perspective from Springfield Daily Citizen: “Your neighbor is not your enemy.”

In a time where it’s easy to feel divided, this piece is a powerful reminder that real change starts close to home with the people right next door. Getting to know our neighbors, having conversations, and building genuine relationships can bridge more gaps than we think.

At Generations Village, this is exactly what we’re about. Creating spaces where people connect across backgrounds, experiences, and generations because community isn’t built online, it’s built face to face.

Let’s keep showing up for each other. Let’s keep building the village.

Last Saturday, April 11, something really special happened in our garden beds, and it had everything to do with the people behind it.

Residents and volunteers came together for a Community Garden Day filled with connection, collaboration, and a little bit of dirt under our nails.

More than just planting, it was a day of shared laughter, teamwork, and meaningful moments. Watching neighbors and volunteers work side by side, learning from one another and building relationships is exactly what Generations Village is all about.

We’re so grateful to everyone who showed up, pitched in, and made the day such a positive experience. 🌼

Stay tuned we can’t wait to watch everything grow! 🌿

At Generations Village, we believe that true community happens when all ages come together. Intergenerational living isn’t just a concept it’s a way of life that strengthens connection, understanding, and well-being.

Young and old thrive together: Children learn from the wisdom and life experiences of older generations, while elders gain energy, purpose, and joy from being around young minds.

Building empathy across ages: Sharing daily life with people of different generations encourages respect, patience, and deeper human connections that last a lifetime.

Stronger, healthier communities: Research shows intergenerational communities reduce social isolation, improve mental health, and create supportive networks where everyone can flourish.

At Generations Village, we’re creating a space where friendships span decades, learning is mutual, and every generation has a voice. Because when generations come together, we all grow stronger
