GORDON
We turned the tide
These hands became
Catalysts of change
Let nothing stand in our way
Reduce them to ruin
Ash overtakes the sun
Our footprints embedded
We’d walk with broken limbs
We rise from shipwreck
We shift and carry on
Part with hesitation
And leave the dead to their own
Nothing stands in our way
We’ve freed them of their tongues
Left them to vultures like they did us
Now who looks inspiring?
You’re the one incapable of preservation
We turned the tide
These hands became
Catalysts of change
Let nothing stand in our way
We drink the oceans dry
At night, swallow the stars
At peace we are, with ourselves
Nothing stands in our way
We set our sails for destruction
This is goodbye
We’re leaving it all behind
Like chasing sirens
Where the ocean meets the sky
One of my personal favorites. The song serves as a stark reminder of impermanence. Hold onto what you have, before it turns to ash.
HEAT SIGNATURE
I rushed the wires
Tampered with the breakers
Your voice has been missing and it’s been far too long
I can’t survive on memories alone
How I have I wondered so far from you?
There are days when I slit
My own throat to live
As the past pours onto the floor
I remember the last time
The words rolled off us
We got caught in the hours
And never felt so alive
I rushed the wires
Tampered with the breakers
Your voice has been missing and it’s been far too long
I can’t survive on memories alone
How I have I wondered so far from you?
There are days when I slit
My own throat to live
As the past pours onto the floor
I remember the last time
The words rolled off us
We got caught in the hours
And never felt so alive
As I lose the sun to the night
Will you be by my side by sunrise?
Hold onto what you have
Before it turns to ash
Time the preserver, time the destroyer
There’s a fire in your eyes
That never left me
There’s a burning in my heart
That’s never changing
Time the preserver, time the destroyer
Any Gears of War fans out there? You might recognize this song title. Beyond excited to play this one again!
THE HAMMER OF DAWN
Open your eyes
Look to the horizon
Push back the Earth
We are not abandoned
The hammer of dawn
Will end this winter
This season of fire
Will be remembered
Our hearts are heavy as the heavens
will we salvage from wreckage?
We brush back to resurrect our lives
With the spill of cleansing light
The hammer of dawn
Will shatter with morning
Entrenching the shores
With resurgence of being
When all you love
Has been eclipsed
Do you count the breathes you once cherished?
Hold up your weary head
Meet the dawn
Let it carry you home
I watched it vanish
With the sweeping of arms
Recall the panic
This disappears in sparks
Hold up your weary head
Meet the dawn
Let it carry you home
Outpatient was one of the first songs we crafted as a band. See you in the pit in 9 days!
OUTPATIENT
Rejoice!
For she has taken throne
And the dead are now one more
Rest your eyes behind the coin
We’ll guide our departed home
The light shall lead you in
Reaching for the right hand
Your remembrance carries in the wind
My heart can only imagine
These arms hold only bandages
May your stay be temporary
I followed the horizon
As it scorched the hillside
And through the shades I watched the skies
For she has taken throne
And the dead are now one more
Rest your eyes behind the coin
We’ll guide our departed home
The light shall lead you in
Reaching for the right hand
Your remembrance carries in the wind
I will be waiting
For my love’s rebirth
We always described Between Hell & Here as the slow jam but it's anything but that. We're only 11 days away!
BETWEEN HELL AND HERE
It’s your condition
The very state you’re in
That becomes so disheartening
You gave us hope when we had abandoned
Took shelter in your arms
Amidst the flood
In the absence of the sun
Your words kept us warm
Our hearts fell to night
Your dawn graced our eyes
You held up our heads from the rising tide
Your breathes became trying and I fear for your condition
It’s your condition
The very state you’re in
The becomes so disheartening
When you once were so unbreakable to us all
Your wings have been anchored
They no longer hold us up
Our hands aren’t of significant size
To administer resuscitation
The hours dim and we’re left to drown
Our hearts fell to night
Your dawn bypassed our eyes
Our heads sink below the rising tide
It’s your condition
The very state you’re in
The becomes so disheartening
When you once were so unbreakable to us all
Your life is fleeing you
Our words they offer, no form of resurrection
The cold runs through you
And we can only stand the sight for so long
