My bedroom window looks out toward the east coast.
I watch the sunrise in the quiet of morning, I cherish it most.
The wheat field is incomparable to the one I viewed in my previous life,
Across from the dirt road in a house full of strife.
This field is breathtaking on any common morning.
An ombre of colors that wakes without warning.
Pink, orange and yellow hues stretch across the sky.
Awakening the whispering wildlife who scamper nearby.
My room fills with morning shadows that set the stage
For another day written on God's own page.
I know this is true, because I've read,
"Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be."
What I've read resides inside my head
and in that truth, my quiet heart is led
And I remember those words as I gaze to the east. Watching the sun awaken has finally ceased.
