Every stitch helps shape the world of Alice in Wonderland.
Long before the curtain rises, costumes begin the work of storytelling. Fabric choices, textures, and hand-finished details all become part of how each character moves through Wonderland on stage.
This process asks for patience, collaboration, and an incredible amount of care from the people behind the scenes who help bring a production to life.

Alice in Wonderland is going on the road this summer!
Three Kansas towns, three stages — including one we've never danced on before:
🐇 June 19 — Ottawa Memorial Auditorium
♠️ July 11 — Granada Theater, Emporia
🌹 July 18 — McPherson Grand Opera House
The whole production is being built from the ground up — new costumes made in our own shop, original choreography by Katie Andrusak that moves between classical, neoclassical, and tap, and projection design we've created with Wichita State.

Ballet Wichita is heading on tour again with Alice in Wonderland. Rehearsals are underway, the magic is building, and we cannot wait to share this adventure with audiences across Kansas.
Have you ever heard of pancaking pointe shoes?
If you’re a dancer, this probably isn’t news to you... but if you’re not, welcome to one of our favorite little secrets. 🩰
Pancaking is a little dancer hack where we add makeup to our pointe shoes so they perfectly match each dancer’s skin tone. The smallest details really do help create the most polished final look.

Chance to Dance is heading back into Wichita classrooms this fall — and we're looking for teaching artists to be part of it.
If you have dance teaching experience and want to make a real impact in local elementary schools, this one's for you. It's a paid position with hands-on mentorship and a community that shows up for the work.
