The Wichita Music Census will launch soon, and we need your help to spread the word and encourage Wichitans 18 and older--who contribute to our city's music community in any way--to participate! This census, led by Sound Music Cities in partnership with City of Wichita- Government, Wichita State University WSU School of Art, Design and Creative Industries, Movement Musick & Kansas Arts Commission, is the first step to help determine the current needs, challenges, and opportunities for Wichita’s multifaceted music ecosystem.

Wichita is part of Kansas Music Cities Together, a year-long program to help Kansas communities better support their local music ecosystems. We’re looking for many voices, including organizations and individuals like you, to help us spread the word when the survey launches. The commitment itself is small: we just ask that you share the census with your network and encourage people to participate.

I was honored to welcome everyone to today's "Employer Action Session: Child Care Solutions for Workforce Participation" organized by Child Start, Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas, and the City of Wichita- Government. Child care isn't a women's issue or a family issue: it's an economic development issue. We all appreciated learning about MI Tri-Share Child Care from our Michigan colleagues: HealthWest, Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential, Vibrant Futures, and Wonderschool. And thank you to our event sponsors, Greater Wichita Partnership, AGH CPAs & Advisors, and Martin Pringle Law Firm for supporting this important workshop!
