Rural Ramblings for July 1, 2026. On the first day of each month, we feature a neat rural location in Kansas. This addition features a historic farm museum in Cheney, KS. This month features an event partnered with the 79 year old Wichita Farm & Ranch Club, which hosted an event at this historic location.

We had a great April meeting with Kristin Cloud at her family’s Butler County Kansas Ranch. It was great to learn about family ranch economics and lifestyle, and direct from ranch to fork protein. It was good to lean about what they do with their Longhorn/Angus mix herd for lean ground beef and how they work in the beautiful Kansas Flint Hills with other ranchers. The group enjoyed dinner and fellowship at Stearmans Restaurant in Benton, KS after the tour. Stay tuned for other Wichita Farm and Ranch Club Programs.
