We are proud to announce that NOCA is in the final stages of joining forces with an industry-leading Part 142 pilot training organization in order to make the Air Ambulance industry’s best Operations Control Specialist training program available to all HAA operators, no matter the size of their helicopter fleet.

Formal announcements will come as the transition nears completion. We are estimating that it will take three months to move NOCA courseware over to the new system and build in new features, however, it will be worth your wait! The new training platform will allow additional training options for your students, such as instructor-led distance learning from any location in the world, eLearning from your location and on your time schedule, as well as traditional classroom learning. And the best part is, this training will now fully qualify as your official OCS training program under Part 142 and satisfy all requirements of the FAA.

If you have any questions or would like to talk more, please feel free to email me.

Everyone knows that an Operations Control Center (OCC) will enhance the real-time safety of your operations and your flight department as a whole. What most operators fail to realize is that there is another benefit that will become immediately apparent after starting an OCC.

In a one-year study at a major HAA company, it was determined that the real-time management of the flights by OCC resulted in SAFETY DECLINES totaling 4% of total flight volume for the year. That means that because of an action OCC took, or information that it obtained and/or relayed, the flight in question was canceled, aborted, or diverted by the pilot in the interest of safety or legality. At best, certificate action was avoided. At worst, accidents where prevented.

Now for the surprising part…the same study showed that the real-time management of the flights by OCC also resulted in a 16% increase in CAPTURED FLIGHTS for the operator over the course of that same year. As above, because of some unique action or information obtained or relayed by OCC, the pilots were able to safely accept flights to the intended destination or an acceptable alternate, i.e. the company captured revenue flights that would have gone missed.

How would you like to increase your flight volume by an average of 16%?

One of the biggest concerns operators have with regard to building an OCC and training staff for the job is the cost. But as our studies have shown, having an OCC will reduce accidents and certificate actions, while at the same time increasing captured revenue flights.

OCC pays for itself.

If you have questions about what an OCC can do for you, please contact me at the National Operations Control Academy (NOCA).
