The victim was found frozen to death in his restaurant’s refrigerator with the word “killer” spelled out in bacon. Who really killed him? The defendent, his business partner who found out that the victim has been embezzling from their restaurant or the loan shark who’s been stalking the victims for months?

Some things young people need to have a great class discussion:
1. A thought-provoking prompt that can cause disagreement or cognitive dissonance
2. Wait-time
3. Opportunities to write down their thoughts before verbalizing
4. Encouragement while also being challenged

I love this! This is so useful when teaching kids how to have group discussions!

What a very entertaining and thought-provoking talk! I wish I could give talks like this guy, but also what a great idea! How can we gamify learning some more? I'm thinking especially in areas that require more deep thinking like philosophy and history... I guess I have to hunt down that talk by Sal Khan now...
