π Bagworms Are Back β Protect Your Trees Now! π³
Did you know that bagworms can defoliate and kill your trees if left untreated?
These destructive pests hatch in late spring and quickly begin feeding on evergreens like arborvitae, spruce, and juniper β leaving brown, bare branches behind. Their protective silk βbagsβ are tough to spot until itβs too late.
β
Why Act Now?
Early summer is the ideal window to spray before the bagworms form their protective cocoons. Once that happens, theyβre much harder to eliminate.
π What Are Bagworms?
Bagworms are caterpillars that build camouflaged βbagsβ made of silk and foliage. They eat non-stop and can cause severe damage in just one season. Each female can lay 500β1,000 eggs, meaning one missed bag can turn into an infestation next year.

Brown patch has been on the rise keep an eye out for what to look for in your lawn if you think you have a fungus reach out for quote!
Brown patch is a common lawn disease caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia solani. Here are some key facts about it:
1. Symptoms: Brown patch typically manifests as circular patches of brown, dead grass that can range from a few inches to several feet in diameter. The edges of these patches may appear water-soaked or darkened.
2. Conditions: The disease thrives in warm, humid conditions, particularly when temperatures are between 65Β°F and 85Β°F. Excess moisture from overwatering or poor drainage can also contribute to its development.
3. Affected Grasses: It commonly affects cool-season grasses like tall fescue, ryegrass, and bentgrass, but it can also affect warm-season grasses like St. Augustinegrass and zoysiagrass.
4. Cultural Practices: Proper lawn care practices can help prevent brown patch. These include adequate fertilization (avoiding excessive nitrogen), proper mowing height, and ensuring good air circulation.
5. Treatment: Fungicides can be effective in controlling brown patch, especially when applied preventively or at the first sign of disease. Cultural practices should also be adjusted to reduce conditions favorable to the fungus.
6. Prevention: To prevent brown patch, avoid watering in the late afternoon or evening, as this can prolong leaf wetness. Aerating the lawn to improve soil drainage and reduce thatch can also help.
By maintaining a healthy lawn and following good cultural practices, you can reduce the likelihood of brown patch and other lawn diseases.
