I try not to forget this.
There were days when I hoped, prayed, and worked toward the life I have now, even when it felt far away. It did not happen overnight, and it did not always feel easy, but little by little things started to come together.
That is why I try to stay grateful for what I have today, even while I am still working toward what comes next.
Sometimes the life you are living right now is the answer to prayers you once whispered.

Some days are just normal work days.
The difference is the office happens to be wherever we are parked.
It still feels intentional.

Managing water and tank levels becomes part of your normal routine. It is not glamorous. It is just how this lifestyle works.

If it can blow away, stake it down or weigh it down. Chairs, rugs, and anything lightweight outside can take off quickly when the wind picks up.
We use rocks or stakes to secure our outdoor rug and make sure everything is anchored before calling it good. A few extra minutes of prep saves you from chasing your campsite across the field.

Just got back into our home state! After 14 months, 4 new states - Nevada, California, Oregon, & Washington - 11 new National parks, 5 new major cities, 2 concerts, and a whole lotta winding mountain roads! California condors, humpback whales, banana slugs and a bear stake out. Kids first solo flight cross country to see friends! Fresh water tank tried to fall out on I-10, Harvey stranded us in remote northern CA for a week, the fridge door fell off in Samantha’s hand, Harvey stranded us for a day outside of Yosemite & the generator broke down a few days before Christmas. 2 months in the Vegas area - a new favorite for all. Our first time staying in the Yuma LTVA (LOVED it!) & experiencing dental care in Mexico. WHAT A YEAR!!! ❤️🎉

Travel day reality.
The shower becomes storage. The hallway becomes a loading zone. Nothing looks Instagram ready.
It is not glamorous, but it works.

Living in a smaller space has a way of revealing what you actually use and what you do not. We are always getting rid of something, reorganizing, or deciding we do not need as much as we thought.
It is not dramatic. It is just part of making small space work long term.

Before driving your whole rig down a rough road, stop and consider. Sometimes we even drop the RV and take just the truck down the road to scout ahead before committing. We don't want to drive the RV down a road we may not be able to turn around on. Look for soft sand, tight turns, and low branches.
Before pulling into your boondocking spot, get out and walk the space. Check for holes, low branches, dead trees, or uneven ground.
Getting in is usually easy. Getting out is what matters.

We spent a couple of hours here because this is what he wanted to do.
Not every adventure is dramatic. Sometimes growth looks like sitting beside your kid while they light up about something they love.
That matters just as much.

Fulltime RV travel has many perks, but one of our favorites is getting to connect with friends and family on the road! Patti & Jerry, thanks for inviting us over for a great afternoon of visiting! ❤️

You can have a perfectly calm plan for the day, and then the wind picks up. When your house sits on wheels, the weather affects more than just your campsite. It can change drive days, outings, and sometimes the entire plan.

If you rely on solar, your parking spot matters. Look at where the sun rises and sets, and avoid parking in shade all day. Sun equals power. Shade equals frustration.
