Midnight Brushwork Designs

I love color and this dresser has plenty of it. This dresser's design involved multiple layers and blending of paint, incorporating four different hues: purple, red, mustard yellow, and burnt orange, to capture a funky bohemian look. The hand-painted flowers on the side were designed to match the boho theme.

This dresser has been painted in a soft light pink. I then added rose gold glass k***s. It would be a beautiful addition to any nursery.

This antique waterfall vanity, exposed to the elements for several years, initially seemed beyond repair. However, through meticulous sanding, strategic application of wood glue, and dedicated care, restoration was achieved. A smokehouse taupe finish was applied, and roses were added to the drawers for a feminine appeal.

The French provincial vanity has been beautifully restored with a deep plum finish and black wash. A resin technique mimicking faux marble has been applied to the top. The vanity stool has been reupholstered and accentuated with black feathers to achieve a glamorous look.

This piece is the top section of a vintage china hutch that has been ingeniously flipped upside down to create a unique display shelf or cabinet.
​By inverting the piece, the original decorative crown molding now forms a substantial molded base at the bottom, giving the entire unit a grounded and finished look. The original, flat bottom of the hutch top now serves as the open top shelf of the repurposed piece.
​The cabinet doors have been transformed for a distinct farmhouse-rustic style. The glass panels have been removed and replaced with tautly secured chicken wire, which adds texture, allows for a peek inside, and immediately lends an authentic country or farmhouse aesthetic.
​The interior back panel of the hutch has been covered with a wood grain wallpaper. This detail provides a clean, contrasting surface against the painted exterior and offers a rustic, shiplap, or faux-wood plank backdrop for any displayed items.
The exterior is painted in a sophisticated, muted taupe. A whitewash technique has been applied over the taupe paint. This diluted, pale application softens the base color, settles into the crevices, and mimics the natural aging and sun-bleaching of wod, successfully giving the piece a desirable warm and cozy, distressed appearance.
​The finished paintwork is sealed with a clear or natural furniture wax, which protects the paint and whitewash while imparting a soft, low-luster sheen and a smooth, tactile feel.
​The overall effect is a charming cabinet that blends the elegance of traditional molding with the casual, weathered warmth of a farmhouse antique.

Resin pour with metallic mica powder gives a faux marble effect. This is just one from a set of end table that were commissioned.

Grunge makeover

A friend of mine asked me to do this coffee table for her lake house. When she brought it to me she said "I have a strange request. Can you make the top of this table look like water?" My reply was Unicorn SPiT : The Original Vibrantly Colored Concentrated Stain will make it look like water. Colors used were Blue Thunder, Dragons Belly and Zia. Then I applied tung oil to make the colors really pop. It was a fun piece to do.

I finished this a while back but forgot to post it. This little chest had me wanting to rip my hair out. I was half way finished with it and changed direction twice. I had the most difficult time getting the drawers to slide the way they're supposed to. And when I finally finished it something was bothering me about it. It just seemed too short and squatty. So I ordered the hairpin legs off of Amazon and added those. I think the legs helped. It would make a nice little accent piece for an entryway.
