Exactly one year ago today, I was crowned your Miss Juneteenth ICT 2025. Since that moment, I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible organizations, make meaningful appearances, and, most importantly, share my story in hopes of making a positive impact on others.

I am forever grateful for the opportunity to hold the title of Miss Juneteenth ICT. Without this experience, I would not be where I am today. This title has helped shape me into the young woman I am now and has prepared me to step confidently into my new role as Miss Kansas’ Teen.

I want to extend my deepest thanks to the entire Juneteenth ICT staff for believing in me, supporting me, and helping me grow throughout this journey. Your guidance, encouragement, and love have meant more to me than words can express.

Before earning the title of Miss Juneteenth ICT, I competed the year before and came away with a valuable lesson: growth comes through perseverance. Looking back, I can see just how much I have matured and developed since then, and I am so thankful for every experience that led me to this moment.

I want to give a special thank you to Felicia Crowley-Rolfe for always being by my side and helping me with anything I needed. Thank you for your patience, guidance, and unwavering support throughout this entire journey. There truly are not enough words to express how grateful I am for everything you have done for me. Your encouragement has meant the world to me, and I love you so much!

I also want to thank Joseph Shepard for creating opportunities for me and so many other young Black girls to showcase ourselves in a positive and empowering light. Your belief in us and your dedication to this program have made a lasting impact on countless lives. Without your support, I would not be where I am today, and I am incredibly grateful. I am so excited to continue this journey with you by my side and to see all that the future holds.

Miss Juneteenth ICT will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for an unforgettable year filled with growth, opportunities, and memories that I will cherish forever. While my reign has come to an end, this isn’t goodbye, it’s simply the beginning of a new chapter. I invite you to continue following my journey as Miss Kansas’ Teen as I take on new opportunities, serve my community, and continue making an impact.

Mental Health Monday 💚

Healing is not always a straight path, and sometimes the smallest steps are the biggest victories. Be proud of yourself for making it through hard days, for getting back up, and for continuing to grow even when life feels heavy.

Take time for yourself this week. Rest when you need to, check on your friends, and remember that your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. You are enough, you are valued, and your story matters. 💚

Mental Health Monday
Creating safe spaces for young people matters more than we realize. Sometimes the best thing we can do is simply listen, show kindness, and remind someone they are not alone. A safe environment can help people feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and struggles without fear of being judged.

Small actions can make a big difference checking in on a friend, showing patience, encouraging self-care, or celebrating even the smallest wins. Everyone deserves to feel supported, valued, and heard.

This week, try to be a safe space for someone. You never know how much your kindness could help. 💚
