✊ Democracy doesn't just happen on Election Day.

It happens when people show up.

It happens when neighbors gather around a kitchen table. It happens when communities come together in public spaces. It happens when ordinary people decide their voices matter.

🎶 On June 14, join friends, family, and neighbors for Rise Up, Sing Out: Wichita Neighborhood Gatherings & Watch Parties, a community-focused evening celebrating the freedoms protected by the First Amendment.

📢 On June 27, we'll join communities across the country for All of U.S. – Wichita, part of a nationwide day of action supporting democracy, equality, freedom, and civic engagement.

Whether you're hosting a gathering, attending an event, making a phone call, volunteering, registering voters, or simply helping a neighbor, you're helping build the kind of community and democracy we all deserve.

💙 There are many ways to take action. Every one of them matters.

Regarding the next national day of protest from 50501 (the group that started the very first national day of protest on Feb 5, 2025 - All of U.S. - Wichita is already planned for Saturday, June 27. Please share and plan to attend. We are working on the finishing details for that date and will be sharing that soon. Sign up here: https://actionnetwork.org/events/all-of-us-wichita

The No Kings event set for June 14 was JUST announced yesterday and we need a couple of days to see what we plan for that date as well and will put information out as soon as we have it. It's a Sunday and they're calling for a different format than our traditional protests. This is more of a Watch Party "Rise Up Sing Out an uplifting national concert event celebrating the freedoms that belong to all of us: speech, assembly, protest, religion, press, and expression."

We will do something for both dates. Please stay tuned for details as they develop. We have submitted an event to the No Kings national organizers and will share as soon as it's approved and on the map.

All of U.S. - Wichita The MAGA regime is in the midst of trying to whitewash our past so they can control our future. Democracy only survives when people actively participate in it. This week, we continue to make good trouble - together.

If you’re angry, tired, heartbroken, or unsure what to do next - you are not alone - no matter the issues that matter to you. Showing up matters. Every week, every voice, every presence counts.

Democracy doesn’t defend itself — people do. Stand up. Speak out. Stay United. Take Action

If you're frustrated with the way things have been going under the current administration for the last 488 days (yes, we're counting) then join us as we stand together, raise our voices and continue the fight in protest today (day 472) at 10:00AM. Downtown at Douglas and Broadway.

Mutual aid spotlights: We are collecting donations for ICT Blessing Bags and water donations for Hydration Homies. Or you can send donations to us via Venmo () and we'll get them passed along in full directly to the organizations doing the work to help our communities.

A Kansas judge temporarily blocked enforcement of parts of the state’s ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth while an ACLU-led legal challenge moves forward. The lawsuit argues the law violates constitutional protections and would cause harm to Kansas families.

Keep making good trouble!!

Thanks to everyone who went out and showed their support to Mayor Joe this morning. I'll have more to share later today after I can focus on this and get my thoughts & more information together, but following are a few links to the stories shared so far.

If you were there and got pictures, please share in the comments and please share your experience here as well.

🚨 COMMUNITY ACTION ALERT 🚨

Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 13, Joe Ceballos has reportedly been ordered to report to ICE at 11:00 AM at 555 N. Woodlawn in Wichita.

Joe is a longtime Kansas resident and former Coldwater mayor whose case has drawn statewide attention. Recent reporting indicated he reached a plea agreement on misdemeanor election-related charges while hoping to avoid deportation proceedings.

We will not stay silent while families and community members are targeted through fear and intimidation.

📍 555 N. Woodlawn – Wichita
🕙 Gather at 10:00 AM
🕚 Scheduled ICE reporting time: 11:00 AM

Let’s show up peacefully and visibly to make it clear that this community is paying attention and that we will not tolerate ICE activity like this in Wichita without public accountability.

Bring signs, water, and your voice.
Remain peaceful. Remain visible. Remain together.

If you attend:
• Stay on public sidewalks and spaces
• Do not engage in confrontation
• Help keep one another safe
• Document respectfully and responsibly
• Support de-escalation and community care
No one should have to face this alone.
