Yesterday, Whitney Fire/Rescue had the extreme honor of being invite to the birthday party for sweet Dominic. Dominic is a 4yr old special needs child who not only is full of energy but is obsessed with fire trucks. I’m not sure who enjoyed it more, Dominic or us. From the smile on his face to his energy, Dominic now has a special place in all our hearts. We hope you had an amazing birthday sweet boy.

Today kicks off a week of celebrating the ones who remain calm for the ones experiencing the worst moments. The ones who are the knights in shining armor. They sometimes can’t forget the things their eyes have seen. But, they move on to help the next one. These people are one of a kind and we at Whitney Fire would like to say thank you to these unsung heroes.

Apparently this post needs to be made. Just to clarify something. The post of our captain sleeping is all in good fun. I personally know what he is feeling in the picture. I am a firefighters as well, for many years. At Whitney Fire/Rescue, we have fun with each other, give each other a hard time, and are able to laugh. Daniel puts in countless hours to serve his community and absolutely loves doing it. He is very dedicated and has a servants heart.
It’s like at a sleepover, the first one to fall asleep gets covered in shaving cream. Well we were fresh out of shaving cream at that time, so a picture was just going to have to do.
Some people have gotten pretty defensive over this picture and I felt that this post needed to be made. Again, to clarify, we love Daniel and it’s all in good humor.

And here we have Captain 225 making sure the tanker doesn’t get too lonely. He doesn’t even need a pillow.
