Our Paws Place Rescue Board and myself would like to give a HUGE thank you to an anonymous donor for an incredible $10,000 contribution that is going directly toward the electricity installation for our new building. 🐾❤️

We are still not out of the woods financially, but we have made it THIS far — with no government assistance — purely because of the people, businesses, sponsors, and supporters who truly believe in what we stand for and the mission we are dedicated to every single day.

This building represents more than walls and electricity. It represents safety, second chances, proper quarantine space, emergency care, and a future for animals who otherwise would have none.

To everyone who has donated, shared our posts, sponsored, volunteered, believed in us, or simply cheered us on… THANK YOU. You are helping build something this community desperately needs.

We are not stopping. We are dedicated to the mission. 🐶🐱🏡

As a public servant to my community and an advocate for animal welfare, I go by the books. That means documentation matters, public records matter, and accountability matters. My responsibility is not only to rescue animals, but to advocate for public safety, proper enforcement, education, and lawful procedures surrounding animal welfare.

Today I received the City of Whitney’s response to my Public Information Request regarding animal welfare and animal-related police calls within the city limits. I was sent reports👏🏼

For those asking WHY I requested these records, here’s the answer:

Because Whitney does NOT currently have a functioning Animal Control department, yet our community continues dealing with:• Loose and aggressive dogs• Animal bites• Livestock and pet attacks• Dogs running at large• Complaints involving neglect and unsafe conditions• Repeated leash law concerns

As the founder of Paws Place Rescue Inc., I deal with the aftermath DAILY. We are the ones getting the calls, the messages, the emergencies, the abandoned animals, and the complaints from scared residents.

The purpose of this request was NOT to attack anyone. It was to understand the scope of the issue, review how these calls are handled, and advocate for better accountability, enforcement, and public safety.

The records I received show multiple documented calls involving:• Aggressive dogs• Dogs chasing or attempting to bite residents• Animal bites• Dogs killing livestock or other animals• Ongoing nuisance complaints• Rabies vaccination violations• Repeated calls to the same areas and addresses

On hand, included in the records:• Reports of aggressive dogs running loose and attempting to bite adults and children• Calls involving dogs killing goats and chickens• Rabies vaccination violations being cited• Complaints involving injured, neglected, or deceased animals• Repeated complaints involving loose aggressive dogs in neighborhoods

This is EXACTLY why leash laws matter. This is EXACTLY why enforcement matters. And this is EXACTLY why our community needs real animal welfare solutions instead of pretending the problem does not exist.

Paws Place Rescue Inc. is a rescue — not Animal Control. Yet we consistently step in because there are limited resources available to the public.

Transparency matters. Public records matter. Community safety matters. Animal welfare matters.

My goal has always been prevention, accountability, education, and building solutions for Whitney and the surrounding areas.

If we want change, we first have to acknowledge the problem exists. I was sent what I needed. 👍🏼

Tammy’s Grooming did it AGAIN. 😂

Apparently the “cuss jar” was working overtime because y’all managed to raise $288 just by being yourselves. Honestly… impressive. At this point we don’t even need bingo nights, we just need one stressful grooming appointment and a few dramatic doodles. 🤦🏻‍♀️🐩💀

Somewhere between “WHO fking PEED?!” and “STOP EATING THE Fking BANDANA!” the jar was STACKED.

Every dollar goes right back to helping the rescues of Paws Place Rescue Inc. — so technically your bad language is now considered community service. 🫶🏻🐾

Thank you to everyone supporting our animals one cuss word at a time.

BIG GIRL. BIG STORY. BIG SECOND CHANCE.

Meet Freya — a 7-year-old Great Dane queen who somehow keeps getting failed by humans but STILL shows up with love in her heart. 💔

Bell County Shelter reached out and asked us to help this sweet girl find the forever home she deserves. Freya has reportedly been dumped multiple times by previous owners and now her case has become a court matter. Imagine being THIS loyal and still getting abandoned. Humans really don’t deserve dogs sometimes. 😭

The good news?
Freya is:
✔️ Heartworm negative
✔️ Sweet as can be
✔️ Arriving Monday
✔️ Ready to finally know what stability and love feels like

At 7 years old, Freya isn’t looking for chaos. She’s looking for peace, soft beds, snacks, air conditioning, and someone who won’t treat her like a temporary inconvenience. Honestly? Same, Freya. 😭😂

Let’s show this neglected giant what a REAL family looks like. Please share her story so we can help this beautiful girl land the home she should’ve had all along. 🖤
