🐾 Meet Chance 🐾

Former Ridglan Farms beagle. Current sock thief. Future best friend. πŸ’™

Chance is an adult beagle fostered in Stoughton, WI who is learning what it means to be loved, safe, and part of a family. After everything he's been through, he's ready to leave his past behind and focus on the good life.

His favorite hobbies include:
🧦 Stealing socks and clothes from the hamper
πŸ’‹ Giving kisses
🐢 Hanging out with dog friends
πŸ₯© Earning freeze-dried treats
πŸ‘€ Pretending he's not watching you (he absolutely is)

Like many Ridglan beagles, Chance missed out on early socialization and is still building confidence. Loud noises, fast movements, and big moving objects can make him nervous, but with patience and reassurance, he's making wonderful progress.

He's a classic beagle in all the best waysβ€”food motivated, curious, affectionate, and not afraid to remind you if dinner service is running late. His foster family reports that he's always excited when his people come home and would much rather be with you than left alone.

Chance would thrive in a calm home with a confident dog sibling. He learns from other dogs and enjoys their companionship, though he's still figuring out dog social skills and needs canine friends who are patient and forgiving.

πŸ’™ Chance's wish list:
βœ”οΈ A fenced yard
βœ”οΈ A confident dog buddy
βœ”οΈ A fluffy bed
βœ”οΈ Lots of sniffing opportunities
βœ”οΈ Patient humans with gentle hands
βœ”οΈ Minimal time home alone

Chance is neutered, fully vetted, and doing well on a raw diet that helps keep his tummy happy. Because of his Ridglan background, he'll need Benadryl before and after future vaccines as a precaution.

This sweet boy has already overcome so much. Now all he needs is a family willing to help him continue learning that the world can be a safe, wonderful place.

And maybe a family willing to keep their socks picked up. 🧦❀️

🐾 Meet Benito Sabueso (Beni) 🐾

Former Ridglan Farms beagle. Current professional spinner. Future best friend. πŸ’™

Beni is an adult beagle fostered in Green Bay, WI who is learning what life is like outside of a breeding facility. In just a few short weeks of freedom, he's already made incredible progressβ€”and his personality is starting to shine.

His signature move? Spinning in circles while wagging his tail when he's happy. And trust us, seeing Beni discover joy is pretty special.

Like many Ridglan beagles, Beni missed out on important socialization early in life, so he's still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. He may hesitate at doorways, shy away from hands at first, or need a little encouragement when facing something new. What he needs most is patience, kindness, and time.

He's also incredibly curious.

And by curious, we mean he may open drawers, investigate cabinets, move chairs, unplug lamps, and steal your remote if given the opportunity. πŸ˜‚

Beni loves:
β˜€οΈ Sunbathing
🧸 Stuffies
πŸ’› Cuddles
🐢 Dog friends
πŸ‘§ Kind, respectful kids
πŸ‘ƒ Sniffing everything
πŸ₯£ Licky mats

A confident dog sibling is a must for Beni. He learns so much from other dogs and loves having a buddy around. He's making great progress with house training, does well free-roaming, and is learning leash skills (although chewing the leash is currently his favorite part).

🏑 Beni's dream home:
βœ”οΈ Fenced yard
βœ”οΈ Another confident dog
βœ”οΈ No apartments
βœ”οΈ No small children
βœ”οΈ Patient, understanding adopters
βœ”οΈ Minimal time home alone

Beni is neutered, microchipped, up to date on preventatives, and thriving on a raw diet that helps keep his tummy happy.

After everything he's endured, Beni is ready for a life filled with soft beds, full bowls, lots of sniffing adventures, and a family to call his own.

Could that family be yours? πŸ’™

We are excited to share that Jeff, from Blankets By Jeff has officially completed our beautiful Rainbow Blanket, and it is even more stunning than we imagined.

This incredible handmade creation was lovingly crafted and generously donated in support of the Lita Lewis Rainbow Bridge Memorial Garden. The craftsmanship is exceptional, the colors are beautiful, and the meaning behind it makes it a truly special piece.

We will be featuring this blanket as part of a raffle basket during our upcoming Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, Lita Lewis Rainbow Bridge Memorial Garden. We can't wait to see you there!

For everyone who does not know, Lita was Albert's Dog Lounge's president, Mandy Lewis & husband, Darren's, dog who fought a long hard battle with cancer. She passed away a few weeks ago but they've been working on this beautiful memorial garden for a long time.

As many of you have likely already heard, our team spent the last two days alongside Big Dog Ranch Rescue helping remove another 300+ beagles from Ridglan Farms.

We were honored to provide whatever support was needed, from unloading dogs and assisting with paperwork to yard duties, veterinary support, and helping prepare dogs for transport. Our volunteers were ready to jump in wherever they were needed as the Big Dog Rescue Ranch team worked tirelessly to get these dogs safely on their way to rescues and to their facilities in Florida and Alabama.

Over the past several months, we have built an incredible partnership with Big Dog Ranch Rescue, and we are deeply grateful to have been invited to assist with the removal of some of the final dogs leaving Ridglan Farms.

As many of you know, Ridglan Farms has announced its closure. Approximately 150 puppies remain and are expected to leave the facility in early August. While we recognize that many people have strong feelings about this situation, we ask that comments on this post remain positive and respectful. We will not be engaging in negativity. Our focus is on the dogs, their futures, and the fact that their lives have changed forever.

While our ability to help was primarily through our physical presence and volunteer support over the last two days, we couldn't leave empty-handed.

Please join us in welcoming three new beagle babies to the Albert's Dog Lounge family:

β€’ Kizzie – approximately 7 months old and quite shut down after right now. She will need patience, love, and time to learn that the world can be a safe place.

β€’ Margot – approximately 7 months old and in need of a little extra TLC as she settles into foster care. She has another RF beagle in her current foster home to show her the ropes.

β€’ Ouiser (Pronouced Weezer) Boudreaux, named after Shirley McClain's character in Steel Magnolias – our chunky little monkey and social butterfly - also about 7 months old. Ouiser joined Kizzie's foster home in hopes that her confidence and outgoing personality will help Kizzie feel more secure and comfortable.

All three girls will need veterinary care, vaccinations, spay surgeries, and the many other essentials that help prepare them for their forever homes.

If you would like to support Ouiser, Margot, and Kizzie as they begin this next chapter, donations are always appreciated. Every dollar helps provide the medical care, supplies, and support they need to thrive.

Thank you for standing with us, for believing in second chances, and for celebrating these victories alongside us. Today, we celebrate 300+ more beagles whose futures are brighter than they were just a few days ago.

πŸŽ† Fourth of July is almost here! While we may love the fireworks, many pets find the loud booms scary and stressful.

A few ways to help keep your furry family members safe:

🐾 Make sure ID tags and microchip information are up to date.
🏠 Keep pets indoors during fireworks and create a cozy, quiet space for them.
🎡 Turn on a TV, fan, or calming music to help drown out the noise.
πŸšͺ Double-check doors, gates, and fencesβ€”frightened pets can be surprisingly skilled escape artists!
πŸ– Keep holiday foods and treats out of reach.

Most importantly, give your pet a little extra love and reassurance. ❀️

Let's keep all pets safe, secure, and home where they belong this Fourth of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸΆ

PS now is the time to contact your vet for medication, not July 3rd. ;)
