The Ice Age Trail 50 is one of the oldest and largest ultras in the country. The 2026 race will be held on Saturday, May 9.

Peter Morris and Kristin Stevenson are the 2026 Ice Age Trail Half Marathon champions.

Peter posted the fastest overall time in the Half Marathon in the last ten years, running the 13.1 mile course in 1:25:43 (6:32/mile pace)! In second place was Todd Kemper (1:34:08). Gregory Vorontsov finished third in 1:38:07.

Kristin Stevenson posted a 1:47:52 finishing time. Following her were Ashley Plummer (1:51:47) and Laura Schroeder (1:51:22).

Congratulations to all our winners and everyone who participated in this year's Half Marathon!

Jake Erschen of Wauwatosa is our 2026 50k champion! Jake broke the tape in 4:00:49, with Jordan Williams (4:01:51) and Devon Johnson (4:20:41) completing the podium.

Women: Lauren Bourdreau took first in 5:06:32, followed closely by Hannah Inyart (5:09:45) and Kerry Butters (5:15:14).

Congratulations to all our 50k finishers!

Great day for racing in the Southern Kettle Moraine Forest! Congratulations to our 2026 50-mile champions: Liam Gayter from Louisville, Colorado (7:10:10) and Katia Wanish (8:04:24) from Madison. This is Katia's second Ice Age win!

James Luebke was second overall (7:33:22), and John Hollister rounded out the top three (7:35:53).

Emily Muhs (8:21:04) took second place among women with Julia Hartig finishing third (8:23:46).

Of our 240 50-mile finishers, 28 gritted it out in the final 15 minutes (overall 75% finish rate). Massive shoutout to our final runner, Martyna Zawilinska, who crossed the line at 11:58:31.

2026 Ice Age Trail Races 01/19/2026

Our first runner's newsletter was sent out last week. If you didn't receive your copy, please check your Spam folder and add Ice Age as an Approved Sender so you don't miss future newsletters. A link is also attached.

Here's what you may have missed:

The deferral deadline is February 20th.

We'll be hosting two training runs on the Ice Age course on Saturday, April 18th and Saturday, April 25th.

If you need lodging on race weekend, book soon.
