It's time for our annual iron pour. I am pleased to say that the UW-Whitewater group leading this renamed it the annual Pete Memorial Pour as he and the instructor founded it and the 2022 event took place the day after his funeral two years ago. It is a lot of fun and I hope folks stop by, either to make a cast-iron tile or just to watch!

Twenty-two people attended the organizational meeting of Whitewater's Arts and Crafts Club at Wisconsin Makers late Wednesday afternoon.
The brainchild of Mike Alvarez, the club will start out with some drawing classes and progress into a variety of other crafts and art education, such as painting, woodworking/carving and indigenous pottery.
Persons interested in leading a class or meeting with fellow crafters on a regular basis are welcome to do so. Wisconsin Makers has equipment and materials for a variety of interests, from fabric arts, metalwork and woodworking to electronics, 3-D printing, laser cutting and more. Just call Chris at (920) 728-2960 for more information or to make arrangements.
Details on Mike's first class will be posted soon.
Here are photos of Mike showing attendees some of the artwork he has done. Also in one of the photos is Kent Taylor, makerspace member and handyman.
