I am so honored to receive an honorary Doctorate from Umea University, Sweden. Our collaboration has provided numerous opportunities for students and faculty. I am looking forward to attending the ceremony in October.
Honorary doctor who created close ties between Umeå and Wisconsin Sharon M. Kolb will be awarded an honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Social Sciences in 2023.

Dear Professionals,
I want to share the news with you that I plan to retire from UWW on Jan. 3, 2022. I am very excited about this new adventure in my life and look forward to spending more time with my family and friends.
I have been blessed to work with such a great group of professionals during my many years at UWW. Many of you are former students and I am so incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to work with you over the years.

The SPECED4U program is an online special education licensure program. Students should have an Associate’s of Arts degree (or equivalent) or a Bachelor’s degree in a non-licensure field (but are not interested in pursuing a graduate degree).
This program was designed for educational/instructional assistants, paraeducators or persons with extensive experience working in the schools who want to pursue their bachelor’s degree and special education cross-categorical teaching license. Courses are online in 8-week sessions with monthly (Saturday morning) real time virtual meetings with instructors. Students can continue to work in their current school district and complete field-based courses and assignments on the job.
