Part two of the evening at Reading Under The Lights is the reading circles on the UW-Whitewater Football Field!

The storms put a damper on attendance, but a good portion of our new leadership team for 2026-2027 was able to get together for the first time at the Whitewater Public Library last night! The library is providing a fantastic location to meet over the summer with the high school building closed for construction.

Thanks to Rae and Alex for delivering Thank You photo frames to our Silver-Iron Sponsors today! We are grateful for the support provided by our community each and every year. The duo were able to grab a couple of photos with two of our original sponsors that have been with us for all 10 years - HSI Rentals and the Coburn Company.

Congrats to Margaret, Erison, Ace, Emilie, and Rae, all recognized this afternoon at Alverno College in Milwaukee as Wisconsin Winners of the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Aspirations in Computing Award! Emilie is heading into her junior year on the Programming Team, and the others have just finished their fourth year on Ferradermis and are heading off to UW-Whitewater, UW-Milwaukee, and Marquette to study cybersecurity, media arts and game design, computer engineering, and electrical engineering! It was great to see so many members of FIRST Wisconsin teams recognized as Winners, Honorable Mentions, and Rising Stars this afternoon!

We're all set for the Whitewater Storytelling Festival today! What a beautiful day to join us at Flat Iron Park in downtown Whitewater to learn about the WUSD FIRST Robotics program for grades 4-12. We'll be here until 3:00.

Our evening started with a school board recognition of the team and ended with our first summer small group meeting at the newly remodeled Whitewater Public Library. CAD students were checking out the library meeting space tonight to see what will work best for the team over the summer while we are between workspaces at the high school.

This year, the WUSD Robotics Booster Club was able to award two $1000 scholarships to members of our senior class. Congratulations to Technical Team Captain Erison Dreksler and Administrative Team Captain Chacha Binagi!
