Crossman Gallery

In honor of the 55th anniversary of the Crossman Gallery (est. 1971) at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, we are hosting a Juried Alumni Exhibition in Fall 2026 to celebrate and showcase the art and accomplishments of our Art & Design graduates.

Artists are welcomed to submit up to 3 artworks in any media or scale, created within the last 5 years, for consideration.

Artworks will be selected by a committee comprising faculty, staff, and current students. To further forge connections across generations of UW-Whitewater students, featured alumni will be asked to visit campus (if possible) not only for the public reception, but also to participate in a meet-and-greet mentoring session with current students.

Starting TONIGHT! — Join us for the BA & BSE Senior Show reception 5:00-6:30pm! Parking is free in Lot 1 in front of the Greenhill Center of the Arts and light refreshments will be provided.

Today is the last day to see “Hybrid Intelligence” in the Crossman Gallery (11:00am-6:00pm)!

Visitors of all ages have been blown away, calling it “Stunning!”, “Spectacular!”, “Wonderfully creative!”, “Moving, mesmerizing, relaxing” and “The coolest thing I’ve ever seen!”

There are so many people to thank for this year’s program, which was the 10th year of the Schuh Visiting Artist! Many, many thanks to Annette and Dale Schuh, and Fei Jun, as well as the numerous UWW team members and collaborators — Xiao Zhang, Jessica Turner, Dan Kim, Amy Fetherston, Casey Carroll, Katie Kuznacic, Michael Dugan, Jared Janovec, Jon Spike, Ben Smith, Owen Russell, Derek Johnson, John Zastrow, Jenny Fisco, Alexa Nelson, Jeff Harriott, Eric Sheffield, Bill Miller, Bill Pariso, Roberta’s Art Gallery, John Turner, Joseph Williams, Purple Plate Catering, Emily Painter, Gloria Cornelius, Jayla Weiss, Grace Bevec, Morgan Adams, Salmai Valadez, and Craig Schreiner (whose beautiful photographs are featured in this post!). Also, thanks to the students — Alexis, Hope, Henry, Morgan, and Zach — who embarked upon frontiers unknown in this year’s workshop! Clearly, the Schuh Visiting Artist Program is a labor of love, as well as collaboration and dedication to the arts.

The Professor is in! Fei Jun is on campus and engaging students and faculty alike with his approach to art making and AI!

From quiet moments of reflection to literally jumping and dancing through the gallery, this year’s Schuh Visiting Artist exhibition — Hybrid Intelligence by Fei Jun — already has students wildly engaged!
