Farming - It has taught us patience, made us more resilient and flexible.

This past week we received a significant amount of rain resulting in a little bit of flooding. Fortunately, these are just a few beds on the farm (so don’t feel bad for us) and it could be so much worse.

However, other beds are very wet and we will delay field work (weeding, bed prep, transplanting, and seeding) until the soils dry a bit.

Oh and there is a frost wring tonight..

Spring 2026 is here.. The cover crops, planted in the high tunnels last September, are ready to be terminated! This means spring crops will be planted soon. We are feeling rested and ready for the 2026 growing season. Stay tuned as the crops roll out. A huge thank you to our community for all its support.

Well it’s the final count down… the team has been busy shutting down the farm. Mowing crops, pulling out irrigation, bed prep, and all the other little tasks that happen to prepare for the snow…. Coming in Monday! Yikes. 😱

We sure have been loving this growing season with the rain, very little smoke and just the right amount of heat.

Once again we have a super dedicated and fun team as well as an amazingly supportive community. We couldn’t be more grateful.

Yes, it’s true we have started harvesting winter squash… yikes! It’s the harbinger of what’s coming. But for now, we will enjoy the big blue bird days, swims in the lake, and the bounty of the farm. Enjoy

Lunchtime = lots of shoes/boots at the farm. It’s the little moments like this, to stop and recognize the beauty. It takes lots of feet to make our little farm operation turn. We are grateful for our wonderful team this year and every year in the past. Each year, dedicated hard work individuals present themselves to grow our community food. It’s amazing.
