Today marks the anniversary of a violent collision of cultures, and perhaps the most stark confrontation drawing the West’s attention to the bloody ambitions of Quranic Islam.

It is right and appropriate to take time today to remember the 2,977 men, women, and children whose lives were hijacked and cut short by wicked men 25 years ago today. Take the time to reflect on firsthand accounts, survivor testimony, and memories shared by family and friends of those we lost on 9/11. And consider the contrast: on a day when 19 jihadis tethered so many to their own psychopathic suicides, hundreds more innocents gave their lives to save as many as they could.

We are made in the image of the One who laid His life down for us even while we were His enemies. The implications of this are vast, but we’ll address those on different days.

Today, we remember the 2,977 people murdered. We honor the first responders who served. And we trust Jesus to reconcile and rectify every single theft and loss we suffer in this “present evil age.” And with that, we take courage to follow Him anywhere, at any cost.

Pray with us today for the surviving families and friends who lost loved ones on 9/11.
