🌿 Connecting People with Nature

GRWA was proud to participate in the kickoff for Wandering with Wonder from The Conservation Foundation and the Kane Nature Rx Coalition, a new self-guided nature experience designed to encourage people to slow down, explore, and connect with the natural world.

The exhibit features interpretive signs and audio prompts in both English and Spanish, inviting visitors to engage with their surroundings and experience the benefits of spending time in nature. 🌱

A wetland may not always look like what you picture when you hear the word “wetland.” Wetlands can be tucked into woodlands, agricultural fields, drainage areas, floodplains, and developed sites.

That’s why a wetland delineation is an important first step when evaluating a property.

At GRWA, our ecological team evaluates the site to identify and document potential wetlands and other water resources. Understanding these resources early can help property owners, developers, engineers, and municipalities make informed decisions before moving forward with design and construction.

We’re saying goodbye (for now!) to Mikayla as she heads off to college! 💚
During her time at GRWA, Mikayla became a valued part of our team, bringing creativity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn to everything she worked on. What she enjoyed most about her internship was having the guidance and support to learn, while also having the freedom to take ownership of her work. Most importantly, she felt like a true part of the team and we loved having her with us!

🌿 The GRWA team recently joined Bedrock Earthscapes, The Naperville Park District, and The Conservation Foundation for a tour of native landscape projects throughout Naperville.

Starting and ending at the Naperville Riverwalk, we explored public and private sites featuring native plantings while discussing design, installation, maintenance, and the many benefits of native landscapes, from enhanced beauty and stormwater management to long-term sustainability.

A great day of learning, networking, and celebrating the value of resilient landscapes. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible! 🌱
