This latest project was fun. It was unique in that it was a newly purchased house being renovated to be used as a rental home. So there wasn’t a specific client’s tastes to lean towards. The objective was to completely renovate the home in a way that was neutral enough that anyone could come in and make it their own, but also not look boring or lack any warmth or personality. This was also on a very tight budget to work within. When working with tight budgets, timelines and other contractors, things don’t always go as planned but I am happy with how this turned out and they immediately got renters and multiple offers! Yay!

If you look at the two bathroom renovations from my previous posts, you can see how they both have the same color schemes but done in two different ways and styles. One is more casual and the other more sophisticated. When you find certain colors or combinations of colors you really like, it is fun to use them in different ways😃

Here is a bathroom renovation just completed. The goal for this bathroom was to have a high end feel at a lower cost. I wanted it to be a little spa like, with some luxury touches but also bring in some warmth. Most important was that it has to be functional for the family and reality of life with growing kids. The before pics will show the big difference in a small bathroom where you can’t change the footprint.

Paint color is Benjamin Moore Jack Pine. Floor from Home Depot. The rest is a collection from target, Amazon, dollar store, and custom made wood shelf.

When you don’t have a mud room but lots of clutter to hide you can find/make a beautiful piece of furniture and turn it into what I call the “mud room cabinet.” Gut the inside and add hooks and create the spaces your family needs. On the outside it looks like a pretty cabinet but it is super functional and hides clutter.

I recently did a refresh on my own living room on a budget. I wanted it to be fresh but still a warm and cozy feeling. I, also, really needed it to be functional for my family. I am currently working from home and have 3 kids. Just showing my favorite angle of the room.

Decorating tip: identify the adjectives for your space. How do you want the space to feel when you are in it. Then try to stick to those adjectives when picking items to put in there.
