Our final garden party had a ceremonial passing of the hoe to Ms. Miller. Mrs. Neseralla received beautiful orchids. She will miss all the young gardeners and supportive adults.

Our last Staff Spotlight of the year shines on Mrs. Neseralla, and it is a very special one. After 11 years at Discovery and 28 years in education, Mrs. Neseralla is retiring, and while we are excited for her next adventure, she will be deeply missed by our Discovery family.

As our STEM Coach, Mrs. Neseralla has inspired curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving in countless students and staff members. Born and raised in Michigan, she has always embraced adventure—from making three skydiving jumps to becoming a skilled sailor who raced alongside some of the top women sailors in the world.

Inspired by a confident and driven business owner who was her mother's best friend, Mrs. Neseralla has shown us the value of believing in ourselves and pursuing our goals fearlessly. Her favorite quote, “I hate it when I don't get what I don't ask for,” perfectly reflects the courage and determination she has modeled throughout her career.

Whether sharing her love of STEM, or encouraging innovation, Mrs. Neseralla has left a lasting mark on Discovery. We thank her for her years of dedication, celebrate her incredible career, and wish her nothing but happiness in retirement.

Fair winds and following seas, Mrs. Neseralla—you will always be part of the Discovery family.

When it's too hot for a hike free choice centers is a nice option

Mrs. Neseralla took Discovery PreK 4 students on a tour of kindergarten classrooms. Students are confident and ready for the next chapter.

Today we celebrate the book A Family is a Family is a Family by Sara O’Leary. This book starts with a teacher asking her class to think about what makes their families special, the answers are all different, but the same in one important way. One child is worried that her family is just too different to explain, but listens as her classmates talk about what makes their families special. As her classmates describe who they live with and who loves them she realizes that there are families of every shape, size and every kind of relation ― the child realizes that as long as her family is full of caring people, it is special. This book is an inclusive way to present how different families can be, and includes many different family structures.
