Each team fought hard and should be proud of their commitment and the earning their placement, competing in the championship game. Taking home the big 1st place win for each division are the East Hartford Hornets C-Team, North Brandford Thunder Birds B&A-Team.

Everyone brought it this year. Awesome job to all the young ladies that competed today. The CTYFL is proud of you!

On behalf of the CTYFL executive board members, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the young athlete in this photo. B-team, East Hartford Hornet, JJ Haughton came onto the field during yesterday’s championship game and showed his teammates, opponents, coaches, spectators and even our Executive board what a true athlete and exceptional sportsmanship looks like. JJ quickly stood out as much more than just a well rounded athlete. Play after play, he continued to display attributes of a true leader as he made every effort to both see and acknowledge the other athletes regardless of the jersey. He continuously reached out a hand to help them up and pat them on the back for their efforts. JJ, if your team or family or you are reading this, continue to be this amazing athlete, becuase you are the prime example of what others should strive to be. Hard working, dedicated, compassionate and most of all, your sportsmanship which is unparalleled.

Congratulations to all our 2022 CTYFL championship winners! Today’s games were, without question, as exhilarating as any football fan could have hoped for. Despite the technical difficulties with streaming, these players spared no expense in making these games some of the best we have seen this season. Make sure to congratulate these young athletes when you see them. C team Berlin (Red), B team East Hartford, and A team Enfield. Great Job athletes! We can’t wait to see you all again next season.
