Happy ! Todayโs art is by Alison Leiva โ27 ๐
Alison shares, โThis is a CMYK monotype and was made by combining cyan, magenta, and yellow layers. It was based off of a photo I took of my younger sister at Paineโs Creek Beach in Cape Cod. This is one of our favorite spots to go see the sunset in the summer, and I was inspired by the beautiful colors and scenery in the photo. I like the way you can see the pathway into the distance and how I was able to include the details of the rocks, ocean, sand, and marsh all in one photo.โ

As the end of the school year approaches, Grade 6 students are showcasing what theyโve learned this year in their humanities course, The World and Water ๐ ๐
At the annual Water Walk (pictured), groups at outdoor stations shared interdisciplinary projects connecting humanities, science, and art. The students led hands-on activities for their peers and members of the professional community exploring global water use, the role and importance of wetlands, and access to clean water. Then, at their Water Presentations a few days later, students shared solutions-oriented research projects, each presenting on a global water issue of their choice.
Grade 6 humanities teacher Sarah Cohen reflected, โStudents approached complex environmental topics with care and confidence, while also supporting one another throughout the process.โ

Last week, the Middle School presented โAnnie Jr.โ as the spring musical ๐ญ ๐ถ
Set in 1930s New York City, the story follows lovable redheaded orphan Annie, played by Brooke B. โ32. The show was directed by Diane DeVore Pโ22 and choreographed by Zoรซ Iacovelli, with music direction from John Bower Pโ31 and production by Julia Auster-Hogan โ06.
โI think that Annie is very optimistic, even though she faces many hardships herself, because she understands that even though things may not be great all the time, life is much more happy if you think about the good times,โ Brooke says. โShe tries to stay optimistic and bring positivity to the orphans by talking about โTomorrowโ instead of feeling stuck and sad for herself today.โ

Students and professional community members led 15 interactive stations set up around Kraft Dining Hall, and the space was filled with the aromas of a homemade international buffet.
โToday is a celebration of the incredible diversity of cultures, traditions, heritages, and identities that make our Rivers community what it is,โ said Andrea Villagrรกn, director of global education. โEvery single person in this space brings something unique and meaningful to this school, and today we get to experience that together.โ
