Project22Nine
Help us reduce the hidden impact of COVID-19, and provide healthy meals to people who are food insecure.
We are a Catholic 501c3 created to help other 501c3’s deliver on their missions. We support the pursuit of the corporal works of mercy via financial and managerial assistance. Whether that’s diverting freshly prepared meals to soup kitchens across Chicagoland, supporting Little Portion Monastery in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, or retiring financial debt of men and women seeking the religious life — y

Wow. Just...wow! We are in awe of our generous donors and benefactors:
•
Our production partners—Chicagoland subscription meal services that anonymously donate their daily overproduction—healthy, fresh food that would otherwise be thrown away. The term “baker’s dozen” doesn’t even come close!
•
Our volunteers who drive their own vehicles to the production facility, pick up the meals, and then deliver them to food pantries, soup kitchens, and missions all over the Chicago area!
•
Food service professionals who plate the meals beautifully so that our hungry brothers and sisters receive a gift that is presented with great care and dignity.
•
Our generous donors who provide the funds we need to keep this mission of mercy going—the 5-gallon food-safe containers, the gas for the vehicles, the PPE for the volunteers...We couldn’t do it without you!
•
Together, we are changing the world for the better! 👍🏻😎💪🏻

Please help us continue this important mission. Consider donating some portion of your stimulus check.

Honored to be part of an interview about one of our partner programs, The Southwest Collective. Beautiful piece!
These Southwest Siders Are Feeding Hundreds For Free And Putting Laid-Off Restaurant Workers Back To Work Food’s Here, a program launched by a grassroots collective, uses extra meals from meal subscription services and a closed restaurant to feed people hard hit by the pandemic.
Block Club Chicago published a beautiful story about us and one of our partners, The Southwest Collective! Thanks everyone!

“...for I was hungry, and you gave me food...” (Matthew 25:35)

This is what it’s all about! Project22Nine has rescued and repurposed a LOT of the inevitable overproduction from subscription meal services that would otherwise have gone to waste. Instead of ending up in a landfill, fresh, healthy food ends up in our delivery vehicles. Next stop: food pantries, soup kitchens, and missions all over the Chicago area!
•
But we have a problem: warm weather. After the winter we’ve been through, how can warm weather be a problem?? •
•
The problem is that our delivery vehicles are not refrigerated, and this will force us to sharply reduce both the amount of food we’re able to safely transport, and the distance we’re able to travel with it.
•
If you can help—with a gift of any amount—we and the people we serve would be so grateful! Click the link in our bio to get started!
•
Thanks SOOOOO MUCH!

After the worst Polar Vortex season in years, 45 degrees Fahrenheit is a welcome change! But it’s a sign that spring is just around the corner, and along with it, WARMER weather. This is a problem when transporting several hundred pounds of fresh food to soup kitchens, food pantries, and missions all over the Chicago area. The food MUST be kept cold in order for it to be safe to eat.
•
Can you help us?? We need to raise enough funds to rent or purchase refrigerated delivery vehicles! Otherwise we’ll be forced to limit both the amount of food we’re able to deliver and the distance we’re able to travel.
•
Please, follow the link in our bio to see how you can help us continue to deliver to our brothers a and sisters in need! God bless you for your generosity!
