Extreme Tan in Westerly is looking for an energetic,, personable and responsible worker for 3-4 shifts per week. Must have transportation, be able to work weekends, and stay when summer is over. I can work around school schedule. Message me if you or someone in your family would fit in this position.

Summer is officially here, and we have a few tips to get you ready....

1) We live in a beach town, and everyone wants to be outside. If you have not been able to "Pre Tan" before getting out into the real sun, remember you can and WILL burn quickly... ALWAYS wear Sunscreen. Even when you think its cloudy... You will STILL achieve a tan if you wear sunscreen! However, if you do not do this you are most likely gonna burn. Take breaks from the sun and stay hydrated... your skin needs it too! If you DO burn, use ALOE and cool water bath soaks.

2) Not everyone has the summers off, some only get 1 or 2 days per week. Want to be tan like everyone else? Consider coming to one of our 3 locations for a FAST and comfortable session in a Fully Air Conditioned salon. 5-7 Sessions of tanning will get you ready for the sun.

3) Understand Spray Tanning and the differences. Spray Tan does not offer any protection from the sunlight. If you have a spray tan and go out into the sun, you will burn just like you are pale. You would still need to wear sunblock. All Spray Tans are not the same. There is a difference between Self Tanning Spray, Airbrush, and a Professionally Automated Spray booth. Self Tanning Spray can be done yourself. Its NOT easy, and usually looks ok on the extremities, and horrible on hands, feet, ankles etc....

Airbrush is where you stand in front of a person with an airbrush gun and solution, and they spray you. This can take 30-45 minutes, and will depend on the person doing it on how it comes out. You are either naked or wearing disposable garments. You wait for it to dry, then wait 8 hours to shower. You may need 2-3 sessions to achieve the color you want, and it will last 4-6 days.... It is designed to be an "on site" thing, and services about 1-2 people MAX per hour.

A Professionally Automated Spray Booth emulates what an airbrush artist would do if they were programmed to do it perfectly like a robot. You watch a quick video, then go into a private room ALONE. It takes 3-4 minutes, and you are completely dry upon finishing. You are tan when you walk out, and you wait 6-8 hours to shower. It will last 7-10 days. Spray Booths are roughly 15 times the cost of an Airbrush setup. It is made for high volume (7-10 sessions per hour). Our booth has an option for a hand held spray as well (and actual airbrush), but the automated works so well that people dont even ask for airbrush. We have been in the Spray Tan game since 2010 when it started, and have upgraded to the newest and greatest each time something comes out. We do roughly 35-50 Sprays per week per store.

UV Free Spray Tans are a great option in the summer, but a bad spray will mess up your day! Do your research! Knowledge is Power...
