Congratulations to StoneRidge Senior Living on the groundbreaking of Phase IV of its master plan.

This exciting expansion will add 54 new independent living apartments, a dedicated assisted living neighborhood, and additional wellness amenities to better serve residents and their families.

For more than two decades, StoneRidge has provided seniors with choices that support independence, dignity, and quality of life. It was a pleasure to join them as they celebrated this important milestone and looked ahead to the future.

Wishing the entire StoneRidge community continued success as this project moves forward.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to tour Stonington Natural Health Center and meet with founder and director Dr. Megan Marco.

Dr. Marco opened the center more than 20 years ago and brings a unique background in neuroscience, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and holistic healthcare. During my visit, I learned about the center’s work helping patients manage pain, reduce stress, support recovery from injuries, address fertility and hormonal health concerns, and improve overall wellness through a variety of treatment options.

It was great to learn more about this longstanding local practice and the personalized care they provide to residents throughout our region. Thank you to Dr. Marco and her team for taking the time to share their work and their commitment to helping people live healthier lives.

Yesterday, I was honored to join members of the Preston VFW -9452 for their Flag Day Ceremony and to offer a few remarks as we celebrated our nation, our veterans, and those currently serving in uniform.

This year’s ceremony was especially meaningful as the Preston VFW marked its 75th anniversary while also recognizing America’s upcoming 250th birthday. It was wonderful to see veterans from different generations, active-duty service members, families, and community members come together in appreciation of the freedoms represented by our flag.

Thank you to the Preston VFW for 75 years of service, patriotism, and dedication to our community. Events like this remind us of the sacrifices made by those who have worn our nation’s uniform and the importance of preserving the values that unite us as Americans.

I was glad to stop by again this year and support an event that continues to bring the community together for Connecticut veterans in need.

This week, I had a great time stopping by SEC-TV’s Summer Open House and Ice Cream Social in Groton.

It was a fun opportunity to connect with neighbors, enjoy some ice cream, and see the important work SEC-TV is doing right here in our community. Local access television gives residents a chance to learn, create, and share the stories that matter to them.

Thank you to the SEC-TV team for the warm welcome and to Kohr’s Ice Cream & More for providing the ice cream, it such a great community event!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending Mystic Seaport Museum’s annual Naturalization Ceremony and welcoming our nation’s newest citizens.

Becoming a United States citizen is a remarkable achievement and the culmination of a journey marked by determination, sacrifice, and hope. It was inspiring to witness individuals from around the world take the Oath of Allegiance surrounded by their families, friends, and community members.

🎉🇺🇸 Congratulations to each of our newest citizens! Your stories, talents, and contributions strengthen our communities and enrich our nation.

Thank you to Mystic Seaport Museum for continuing this meaningful tradition and providing such a special setting to celebrate this important milestone.

🌼💐🌸It was a pleasure to join the Mystic Garden Club as they celebrated more than a century of beautifying our community through gardening, conservation, and civic engagement.

Congratulations to the club on this remarkable milestone and to Paul Coutu on becoming the first male president in the organization’s 102-year history. It was an honor to present a state citation recognizing the club’s longstanding contributions to Mystic and the surrounding community.

Thank you for the warm welcome and for all you do to make our corner of Connecticut a more beautiful place to live, work, and visit.
