With the passing if an other year since that fateful 9/11, it's important to comemorate those who have lost their lives in the tragedy then. The burden of loss never gets smaller, we just grow bigger around it and learn to carry it with us better.
Down here, in Misquamicut, the weather is sunny and warm, an odd outlier following the previous days. Let this be the sign that they are looking down on us, giving us hope and brightness despite the hardships of daily life, and the heaviness and gloom that stays in our hearts every year, even heavier on this day.
