Peanut got his sunshade put up today 🙌 🌞

👀 Also, I like to have similar aged buddies for all of my calves soooo...should someone have one born soon or that has been born recently (Peanut is about a month old but the size of a week or 2 old calf still) for approximately current market price per lb for (ideally) a jersey bull calf of course, please keep us and our lil dude in mind 😉 Thanks!

We like to see our animals in pairs as they grow and my goal someday is to process them in pairs when possible. Its funny sometimes to see the Ayrshires and Jerseys segregate themselves frequently within their mixed herds. They all intermingle but frequently they naturally put themselves in breed specific little herds on any given day. Maybe it's a coincidence or maybe it's just nature. Either way, its pretty neat to see how they all socialize. 🥰 Annie & Angelo the Ayrshire (red) twins and Arthur & Andre the ayrshires are seldom seen one without the other nearby.

Photo 1 is our boy Squidward at about 6 am today looking quite content, knowing his herd was near by quietly eating their breakfast and enjoying the peace of being home, in his favorite spot to nap daily ✌️
Fast forward to about 6:30 am and he was close to being hung in the New England Mobile Slaughter LLC truck to be delivered to Sycamore Farm to hang and be processed and packaged in a few weeks! Our boy hung at 735 lbs 💪
🥩 If you reserved a package, we will be contacting you when we get a call from the butcher!

Neighbors, if you heard me outside cheering this morning like my kid had just taken his 1st steps...if you had listened closely you would've actually heard, "Yay! Your balls fell off! Yay, Nick!" 🤣🤣🤭

👍 Only those who have had a very expensive banding mishap with a cracked elastrator band in the recent past would understand the fear and then relief of it taking a tad longer for the elastic band to fully finish the job and seeing that one thing that will take a jersey from mean a$ # bull to pasture puppy, has been successfully evicted! 🍻

Alex W***y Wally and Connor are trying to figure out who the new guy is and why he's getting all their attention lately. Peanut is wondering if they have any milk 🍼 and how he can get to them... 🤔 The new guy is doing well so far but his future plans are uncertain. His birth farm struggled to get him to walk for his 1st week but by the time I got him at week 2 he bounced right over to me when I picked him up. He has a little bit of a wonky front leg and it takes him a hot second to get up but he seems to be getting stronger. The fact that he is also so tiny works to his benefit in not having extra weight on his limbs as we see how he develops. Obviously, he is not the ideal beef calf but we aren't worried about that right now. What's important is that he deserves the best life and he is here. We are going to let his body and his progress decide what the future will bring for him but we are cautiously very optimistic. Meanwhile, he looooves mealtime and is pretty dang cute to boot! 🥰
