Dante Society's new gift a boost for Westerly's meal site WESTERLY — Thanks to the Dante Society's "cool" new gift, the community "grab n' go" meal site in Westerly's North End has more ability to help keep residents from going

Today was a great day as we celebrated another milestone in our Food Recovery Program.

A special thank you to the Dante Society of Westerly for their generous donation, which made it possible to purchase a freezer that will help keep the Food Recovery Program operating throughout the summer months.

This program continues to make a tremendous impact in our community. Since launching on February 13, 2026 we have distributed more than 1,000 meals and diverted over 800 pounds of food from ending up in the landfill from this one location.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this initiative and helped make it a success. Together, we are reducing food waste and helping those in need throughout our community.

What a great week in Atlanta, Georgia at the SkillsUSA National Conference!

As the awards ceremony came to a close, our students may not have placed this year, but they are still champions in every sense of the word. They represented our town, our community, and the State of Rhode Island with professionalism, pride, and determination.

Throughout this journey, they gained invaluable experiences, developed new skills, built lasting friendships, and learned life lessons that cannot be measured by medals alone. These lessons will stay with them and help shape their futures for years to come.

We could not be any prouder of these outstanding young individuals. Congratulations on an incredible accomplishment and thank you for representing us so well. Your hard work, dedication, and character have made us all proud.
