Rogers Health and Performance
Offering chiropractic rehabilitation services to bridge the gap between injury and performance
Be like Benaiah.
You can no longer pour water into a cup that is already full.
I try to learn daily.
We should all do the same.
You’ll thank yourself for it.
Learning and growth comes first through humility.
You don’t know everything and neither do I.
Slow down.
Enjoy the sun.
Don’t wish it away.
Don’t work it away.
You can easily be replaced at work.
Upon your death your employer will be looking for a replacement within the week.
Your patients will look for a new provider in the same time frame.
But at home? You are Irreplaceable.
Focus on the work that matters.
You need the sun.
It’s not something you should hide from.
It’s no wonder everyone starts to feel much better once the sun gets higher in the sky.
However, everyone has a different tolerance.
Gradually exposing the skin to the sun in the late spring and early summer is best for small periods of time to build up a little base layer.
If you’re out for hours on end sunscreen may be necessary, BUT, just do it with clean products.
I’d avoid products containing chiefly:
Oxybenzone
Homosalate
Octinoxate
Octocrylene
Most of the listed above are intended to drive the sunscreen deeper into your skin for absorption and can cause hormonal disruption and (ironically enough) increase free radicals and DNA damage.
I make mine and my family’s sunscreen using 4 ingredients:
Tallow
Bees wax
Shea butter
Zinc oxide
Super easy. Effective.
And to be quite honest, you don’t really need much of it. We live in Maine for crying out loud.
Soak up the sun while you can.
