Tomorrow, June 19th, our friends at the Intercultural Community Center are having a Juneteenth celebration in Riverbank Park from 4-7pm. Enjoy free food, entertainment, local vendors, and a community gathering that honors and celebrates Black history, culture, and resilience. Free and open to all!
Ms. Kate will be reading some Juneteenth picture books between 4-5pm and giving out library information and small prizes from 5-7pm. Come say hi!

There is no Locker Project food event this week (June 18th), but starting next week they will be visiting us every Thursday from 11am-12pm with free fresh food!
Every Thursday between June 25th - August 13th, our friends at The Locker Project will be at the library in our Youth Program Room offering free fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, and more for anyone to take home.

The Intercultural Community Center is partnering with Walker Memorial Library for "Drop-In English Support" sessions this summer!

Most Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 23rd to July 23rd (no sessions on July 14th and 16th) upstairs in the Local History Room at the library from 12-2pm.
These sessions are free and open to all, no registration required.

Tuesdays: Practice conversational English skills in a range of topics.
Thursdays: Practice job interview skills in English for a variety of job types.

Every Saturday in June we will be showing a family movie from the 2020s in our historic wing, starting at 2pm! Free popcorn and candy will be provided.

Tomorrow's (June 13th) movie hint: A live action adaptation of a hit Disney animated musical where a mermaid longs to join humans on land.

It's looking like the rain may clear up by 10:30am, so Outdoor Storytime at the Westbrook Common is still on as scheduled today (June 12th). Bring an umbrella or poncho (and maybe a towel for the bench) and be prepared for us to cut things short if Mother Nature changes her mind!

Our furry buddy Hank the dog is visiting and would like to be read to! He's coming Monday, June 22nd from 3:30-4:30pm. Registration is required.

Kids PreK to 8th grade can sign up for a 10-minute reading session with Hank, a certified therapy dog. Sign up at our front desk or call to make a reservation: 207-854-0630.

It's a Pokémon Club week! This Thursday, June 11th from 3:30-4:30pm and this Saturday, June 13th from 1-2pm in our youth services program room!

Learn how to play the Pokémon card game, or just have fun crafting and hanging out with other Pokémon fans! Come to any or all of the club meetings! For ages 5 to 18. Ages 8 and under must be with caregiver.

In June, we will have Pokémon Club meetings on the 2nd and 4th week of the month on Thursday 3:30-4:30pm and Saturday 1-2pm.

Saturday, June 13th 1-2pm
Thursday, June 25th 3:30-4:30pm

In partnership with the Westbrook Schools, we will again be serving free kids' lunches this summer for ages 18 and under.

Lunches are served Monday through Friday, starting on June 22nd and ending on August 14th (no lunch on July 3rd) from 11:30am to 12pm in our Youth Program Room. Lunches must be eaten on site and cannot be taken to go.

We've got all sorts of fun activities happening this summer at Walker Memorial Library from Pokemon Club to Hanging out in the Historic Wing, to crafts, science, and more! Check out our online calendar or Facebook Events for more details.

Get ready to "Plant a seed, Read!" with us! We're going to kick off the summer with a popcorn party on June 27th from 10:30am-12pm.
