Acadia donated to ECAD, Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities in Wi******er, CT. The organization trains service dogs that consist of golden retrievers or labradors. The dogs are able to open a washer & dryer along with turning on light switches.

Acadia donated to Maine Boys to Men. This organization addresses development of boys in the context of relationships, socialization process, and cultural environments. Their youth programs develop community of belonging for young men committed to disrupting negative patterns in themselves and others.

Last week, Acadia had the opportunity to attend the Insurance Marketing Communications Association - IMCA conference—and one of the biggest highlights was the ability to connect.

From meaningful conversations with peers across the industry to reconnecting and collaborating with colleagues from other Berkley businesses, the conference created an incredible space to strengthen relationships and build new ones. These moments of connection are what spark fresh ideas and challenge us to think differently.

Stepping outside of our day-to-day also creates the room to think more creatively, continue to innovate, and explore new ways we can better serve our community. We’re bringing those insights and energy back with us as we stay focused on delivering thoughtful, forward-looking solutions.

Acadia employees in CT volunteered for a day at YMCA Camp Woodstock. The team stained the pavilion and cleaned up the garden and waterfront. Camp Woodstock offers summer day and overnight camps to children and families in the Connecticut area.

Acadia donated to OUT Maine, an organization whose goal is to help Maine's diverse q***r youth thrive by demonstrating how much they matter. They do this by creating more welcoming and affirming communities for LGBTQ+ youth in all of their intersectional identities. OUT Maine helps Maine’s q***r youth avoid harmful behaviors and instead build connection, skills and hope for the future.

Acadia donated to NEADS World Class Service Dogs who provide well trained service dogs for deaf, disabled and veterans. Raising a dog to completion is approximately a 2 year endeavor and touches the lives of so many people, from the staff and volunteers that work at the facility, to inmates in correctional facilities that care for and train the pups during the week, to the full-time and part-time raisers that help to reinforce that training in real-world environments. All of this time and dedication by so many helps to deliver the “rock solid” dogs NEADS is known for. During this lengthy training process the staff is evaluating the dogs for their strengths and they take great pride in matching the right dog to the recipient. These dogs change lives, giving back independence, confidence, and lifting spirits wherever they go. This is NEADS 50th year and over that time they have trained more than 1,900 service dog teams, at this point they have over 100 dogs currently in training. They are ever changing and adapting. Some of the updates over the years have been a new client house for the person/dog teams to come and stay for the 2 week training and bonding. They are currently building an onsite vet clinic and early learning center for the pups, this should be ready in the fall. Over the years they have developed a breeding program partnering with other service dog organizations.

One of the great things about working at Acadia is giving back to the communities we serve.

Acadia's New York branch donated to Family Services and had the opportunity to deliver our charitable donation in front of the Family Partnership Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Family Services supports the Hudson Valley through vital programs including mental health counseling, family and youth services, victim assistance, and community safety initiatives—helping individuals and families build healthier, safer, and more independent lives.
