I would like to address the game aspect of visiting.
I don't know how many players recognize their talent and that makes a difference on how one should visit.
If you are a ranger (Red Starburst) you are giving your friend an extra 5% chance of finding a collection item at that location.
If you are an Accountant (D coin) you are increasing the money they earn by 10%.
If you are a Keeper (Blue Star) you are increasing the experience points they may earn by 10%.
If you are a Strategist (Green Lightning) you reduce the amount of energy used by 10%.
No matter what your talent is by helping at a merchant you are giving 25% off a crafting item.
So, this being said it makes sense that a Ranger should help at locations but perhaps at the places where items could be found on that friends wish list or where tool collection items can be found.
An Accountant and Keeper may want to help at locations on the friends wish list to increase the money and experience they could earn when trying to get those collection items. It would be very useful at any of the higher locations including the premium ones.
A Strategist may want to tag those wish list locations that use a higher amount of energy. Since energy rejuvenates at a snails pace this help is useful in many ways.
I am aware of the amount of time that visiting takes but it doesn't take that much time to tag the merchants and the premium locations (without paying attention to their wishlist items) versus tapping the trophies.
If you tap on their trophies it helps you earn your reputation points but because the trophies only refresh every 12 hours it is not much help to the friend if several visiting friends tap them also ( I personally feel that helping at locations and merchants is so much more beneficial).
If you don't know which talent you have you need to look in the upper left hand corner of your avatar (click on your avatar). Your friends talent is located in the same corner.
