It's winter and these bright cold days remind me that the next phase is spring, when the ground warms and plants begin to emerge, greening as they reach for the sun. I'm waiting.

The Biggest Little Bulb project lives! This is your leader Debe Fennell, and I'll be your point of contact for the planting event. I've managed these gardens for 10 years and work closely with City Parks and KTMB to help make Reno beautiful. You can help: Saturday Oct. 18 from 9am to noon will see Rotarians and other volunteers planting 1600 tulips along Riverside Drive. To help us bring a hat, water and sunscreen. We;ll supply tools and vests, water and directions. We'll have bags of bulbs to plant along the street...please be aware of traffic on the street. Here's sign-up google form link:

We have an “Early Lawn Care Pamphlet” we would like to share with you! Click here - https://bit.ly/3G969aQ 🌱🌱🌱Learn our steps for a great lawn👇 Help your lawn wake up and grow well. As the snow melts we rake through the beige dead grass blades and we rake up the pine needles, sticks, pinecones, and old leaves. This lets in air and sunlight to discourage fungi above and to warm the soil below. Now is a great time to rent a deep-tine aerator to plug the lawn before fertilizing, top dressing, and repelling moles. The holes help get oxygen to roots which is essential and allows for the compost, fertilizer, and castor oil granules to go deeper into the soil. We apply Mole-Max castor oil (granules or liquid) now to deter the moles before they begin to hunt for worms in earnest. We spread a light spring fertilization with slow-releasing, organic, and biologically active G&B Lawn Fertilizer. AND we spread Topper fine-screened finished mature compost over the lawn to feed, warm, speed decomposition of old blades, hold moisture in the soil, and to make a lawn look better immediately (the dark behind the new green).2 cubic foot bags of Kelloggs Topper cover about 200 square feet each and are Buy 4, get 1 Free. We also have a couple of compost spreading rollers that we loan out with a purchase. For more information click here - https://bit.ly/3G969aQ 🌱🌱🌱We have 3 palettes of Topper currently in the Nursery and 6 more palettes on their way here this week! It’s going to get chilly tomorrow morning, especially over 5k feet. Cover your tender plants. When it warms up tomorrow mid morning, uncover. I use pots, tarps, old shower curtains, sheets, towels. Whatever suits the plant’s situation. If it’s clear you might see an aurora boriealis tonight.
