Memorial Day Ceremony – VFW Post 10556, Boca Raton

Last Monday, VFW Post 10556 proudly hosted a meaningful Memorial Day ceremony honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. The event brought together veterans, community members, and local youth to remember and pay tribute to our fallen heroes.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation Department for providing tents, chairs, and refreshments, including hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks for all attendees following the ceremony.

The program was enhanced by the participation of JROTC cadets from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Taravella High School, and Olympic Heights High School, whose presence demonstrated the continued spirit of patriotism and service among our younger generation.

Members of VFW Post 10556 and the Vietnam Veterans Association (VVA) joined together with community residents in a solemn remembrance of those who gave their lives defending our freedoms. The ceremony served as a powerful reminder that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We thank everyone who attended and helped make this Memorial Day observance a respectful and memorable tribute to America’s fallen heroes. 🇺🇸

Tonight was our ‘Nite on the Town Dinner.’ We met at Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar in Boca Raton. No matter how many times we meet, listening to the stories from our members of their time in the service never gets old.

Presenting the Outstanding Cadet award to a Navy JROTC Cadet on behalf of the VFW.

I attended the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School Army JROTC award and change of command ceremony this evening, where I presented an award to the outgoing Cadet Commander on behalf of the VFW. Pictured from left to right are myself, Lt Cdr Anders, JROTC Commander, Chuck Adams from the National Society Sons of the American Revolution, and Ryan Maker from the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. The event included an awards ceremony and concluded with the change of command.

It was an honor to present awards and medals to two of the top cadets at the Coral Springs Civil Air Patrol last Thursday night.

Cadet CMSgt Oliver Luscombe & Cadet 1Lt Timothy Hanna both received recognition for their outstanding efforts over the past year.

Our post met tonight at Chili’s 🌶️ in Boca Raton. Fourteen of us in attendance, we shared stories, caught up and enjoyed the company. Stay tuned for next month’s dinner TBA.
