What’s wrong with Washington’s energy codes? I’m so glad you asked! | Climate Solutions Campaign redux! Updating our energy codes (again) is crucial for our climate, because the energy we use to heat and cool our buildings is the fastest-growing source of climate pollution in Washington.

The Washington State Department of Transportation is introducing a new $112 million program to help businesses and fleet operators transition to cleaner vehicles. As of April, eligible customers can request vouchers through the Washington Zero-Emission Incentive Program, or WAZIP to help purchase zero-emission trucks and equipment.

A total of $112 million in incentives will be available through the state’s Climate Commitment Act. These incentives lower upfront purchase prices and allow buyers to save even more through lower ongoing operating costs. The amount of the vouchers varies, based on the type of equipment purchased. Small businesses are eligible for enhanced incentives.
