This particular website had a lot of content that needed to be updated on a regular basis, and they planned to do it all in-house. I would say I made a special effort to make that happen for them, except that it's something I do for every single website I build.

Aaaaall Kinroot websites are designed with the end-user in mind and come with a little library of video tutorials in case you get stuck. Because who wants to pay a minimum fee every single time they need their website updated?

My hair started going gray in my mid-20s. I'm not gonna lie, it used to mildly horrify me 😅 I didn't know it could start that early, and I hadn't even had kids yet! But these days, I try to embrace it as a reminder that I have the exquisite privilege of aging.

It's not easy to navigate the culture of perfection we're surrounded by these days, and the pressure to snip this and sn**ch that as a woman over 35 is *real* you guys. But as I watch our world get swallowed up by AI-generated EVERYTHING, I'm choosing to lean in to the things that make me human. The things that will someday make me unique when everyone else looks exactly the same.

And I truly believe at some point, it's going to be the reason my business (and my clients' businesses) stand out too. So cheers to all the weird, wonderful, wild things that make you YOU!

One of the things I do to pass time on road trips is judge people's car logos (yes, it *is* a hoot being married to me) and the other day we passed one I could not get over. They clearly had someone design their logo professionally, it was lovely! The font choice was on point. The colors were eye-catching and easy to ready. But none of it said ANYTHING about what they do 😆 I was like cool....10/10 would not call the easy-to-read phone number on your trailer because I have no idea what I'd be calling for.

It's been about 9 months since the plot twist that catapulted me into launching Kinroot, and I'm feeling all sorts of sappy about it.

For some reason I didn't anticipate how much I would have to nurture it at the beginning, I think because I had already reached some measure of success in my career. It was hard to adjust my mindset to "This is a brand new business." instead of "This is a continuation of what I was doing before." but once I did, I was able to look back with fresh eyes and appreciate the growth I saw.

So I just wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt "Thank you" to all of you who've been following along, hiring me, supporting me, working for me, telling people about me. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch this little sprout grow with my husband by my side and my kids on the other side of my office door yelling "I love you mommy!"

I can't wait to see what else the future holds for us. My gratitude runs deep and wide 🙏
