I've been trying to photograph the moon recently, which prompted me to look up some of the features visible on the surface of the moon. The crater on the lower left is called Tycho. The Sea of Serenity and Sea of Tranquility are the large, distinct dark spots on the right. This Wikipedia page contains a photo with more of the features labeled. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lunar_features

I enjoy taking pictures of old, abandoned houses. There is undoubtedly a story to each and every one, but most of those stories have been relegated to history. In most cases, these old homes are located on private property and not open to the public. Thankfully, I can use a lens to close the distance. These two photos were taken with the same Sigma 70-300mm lens. the top photo was taken at 70mm and the bottom photo at 150mm.
I've stopped at this location several times in the last few years and taken several photos of this house. Those photos tell a story of disrespect. The first time I visited this house, there were no boards on the first floor windows. The property owner obviously added them to deter trespassers. The smiley face and other markings on the side of the house are more recent additions.

Dry Falls, located at the head of the Lower Grand Coulee in central WA, is a cliff measuring 400 feet high and 3.5 miles wide. It was the site of a waterfall formed during the Missoula Floods which was ten times the size of Niagara Falls.

Last Friday, my daughter and I set out on an impromptu side quest to Mount Rainier National Park after an appointment on "the west side." Despite having lived in Washington for 25 years, this was only my second trip to Tahoma.

Saddlerock, the Wenatchee Valley, and Burch Mountain. We’re so accustomed to living in this landscape that it feels confining to visit places that lack dramatic topography and open vistas.
