On April 11, 2026, the Wellston Middle School Winter Guard and Wellston High School Winter Guard participated in the 11th Annual Indoor Performing Arts Competition at Warren High School.

Wellston Middle School Winter Guard was awarded 1st place in the middle school division and Wellston High School Winter Guard was awarded 2nd place in the high school division.

Several students participated in the solo and duet portion of the competition.

Sarah Hartley won 1st place for her flag solo in the middle school division and earned a superior rating

Cheyanna Grubb and Aulbree Breeze won 1st place for their duet in the middle school division and earned a superior rating.

Emily Spangler won 2nd place for her mixed equipment solo in the high school division and earned a superior rating.

Additional students earned the following ratings:
Elizabeth Greer -Mixed equipment solo- Superior rating
Marie Bapst- Mixed equipment solo- Superior rating
Hunter McCarthy - Mixed equipment solo - Excellent rating

This was a very successful day for Wellston!

Our Winter Band Concert will be Tuesday, December 9th at 7pm in the WHS Gymnasium. There will be performances from grades 5-12. See you there! ❄️🎶

Congratulations to our WHS Band students who participated in the 2025 OU Honor Band Festival! They performed with students from all around Ohio and the surrounding areas, as well as learned from the incredible OU music faculty members.

They gave an outstanding concert at the conclusion of the Festival 🎶

Today the band earned a Superior (I) Rating at the 2025 OMEA State Marching Band Finals held at Hilliard Bradley HS! A SUPERIOR day to be a Golden Rocket 🚀 🎶
