This cranial correction isn’t about force it’s about finesse.

By applying gentle, sustained pressure, we can shift the palatine bone superiorly, opening the joint between the maxilla and the pterygoid. With the right tension and vector, this allows the sphenoid linkage to realign naturally without forcing movement.

Subtle corrections like these are foundational in pediatric cranial work, where restoring functional motion is often more impactful than mobilizing for motion's sake.

Today is my 46th wedding anniversary to this amazing woman, Nancy.

For 46 years, she has been my rock, my compass, my passion, and an ever-present light in my life.

As we’ve traveled through the years and faced the challenges and joys that life has brought our way, I’ve come to appreciate more and more just how blessed I am to have her as my companion.

Her wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support have guided me through so many seasons of our life together. Through the changes, the challenges, the successes, and the everyday moments, she has continued to be by my side.

I’m grateful for the life we’ve shared, the memories we’ve created, and the journey that continues ahead of us.

To many more years together.

Happy 46th anniversary, Nancy.

You are not just adjusting spines.

You are helping people reconnect—to their health, their adaptability, and the potential that exists beyond their current state of function.

Every time you assess with clarity and adjust with purpose, you’re reminding the nervous system how to organize, regulate, and thrive.

This is why we do the work. This is why it matters.

Oral movement is part of a larger functional system.

Understanding the relationships between the cranium, airway, tongue, breathing, and neurological function can deepen your clinical evaluation.

Cranial adjusting is not simply about learning where to place your hands.

It begins with understanding what you are evaluating, recognizing the relevant indicators, and knowing why a specific correction is indicated.

The Chiropractic Cranial Immersion Program takes chiropractors through a comprehensive study of cranial anatomy, physiology, examination, CSF dynamics, cranial mechanics, specific indicators, and correction procedures—from foundational concepts through advanced techniques.

With 38 modules taught by Dr. Martin Rosen and Dr. Nancy Watson, this program is designed to help chiropractors develop greater depth, precision, and confidence in their cranial work.

If you're ready to move beyond learning individual techniques and develop a more comprehensive approach to cranial assessment and adjusting, explore the Chiropractic Cranial Immersion Program.

When you’re working with pediatric and family care, complexity is inevitable. But chiropractic mastery isn’t about guessing, it’s about recognizing patterns.

As Dr. Rosen explains, once you learn to distinguish meningeal vs. structural subluxations and determine ascending or descending patterns, 75% of your cases will fall into place. You’ll know where to start, what indicators matter, and when true neurological change is happening.

If you’re ready to build this level of clinical certainty, explore the SOT® Pediatric Certificate Program, Dr. Rosen’s most comprehensive, step-by-step training in pediatric spinal and cranial adjusting.

You can learn hundreds of techniques and still struggle with clinical decision-making.

The real challenge is knowing which technique belongs in front of you, when it should be applied, and what indicators support that decision.

Technique gives you a tool.

Clinical analysis tells you when to use it.

That distinction is at the heart of becoming a more specific chiropractor.

Inhalation and exhalation are not passive events in the craniosacral system they are primary drivers of dural tension and cerebrospinal fluid dynamics. On inhalation, changes in dural tension allow lateral expansion of the cranial vault, ventricular expansion, and a posterior movement of the sacral base that assists CSF flow toward the cranium. On exhalation, the system reverses, redistributing pressure and refilling the sacral well.

This rhythmic flexion and extension of the dural meningeal system directly influences the sphenobasal and lumbosacral angles, creating a pressure-variant pumping mechanism essential to neurological function. Understanding these relationships is critical for accurate cranial and SOT® evaluation and for delivering truly specific, indicator-based care.
